It was and it was posted on the county site yesterday.

Any ideas why they are changing them? And any truth in 'Around the glens' info?

Quote from: imtommygunn on September 23, 2024, 05:40:33 PMThe winners are usually put into the junior championship which was a really good thing. Has that changed?

The junior final and jun b final will be on the same weekend so yes

imtommygunn

That's disappointing. I thought that worked really well.

It's much easier for the county to fix the games to club grounds - the club is then responsible for stewarding etc.

Look at the JHC at the weekend, semi finals were at home venues, you may argue that's reward for winning your group but the reward is going straight to the SF, again that's the county just taking the easy way out.
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

saffman

Likely due to cushendall always complaining about playing in Dunsilly

Not sure on why, possibly ballycastle didn't take the semi because their getting the final 2 weeks later.
Venue changes both came through late last night.

I think they complained once and it was a very justified one at that.

Gael-in-exile

Any reason why Ballycastle seems to be already set for the final? (Is there a belief St John's will cause an upset?)

I thought finals always in Corrigan regardless of north Antrim teams playing each other ?

No disrespect to St John's but it's hard to see past an all north antrim final. Pull a bigger crowd down in ballycastle and corrigan getting its fair share from the county games.

Still no confirmation on the IHC fixtures/venues?

Where is the news about Ballycastle hosting SHC final posted?

The year Rossa beat them, I believe they lodged an appeal about the timing and the venue. Said some supporters would struggle to be there for 1pm due to farm work and mass at 11am. Wasn't fair on Rossa either in my opinion but hey ho!

Farm work and Mass? Was this in 1953?

saffman

Farmwork and mass was not a justified reason for complaining

They also added in their disliking of the pitch and facilities.

So what was the main issue?

They haven't played a neutral fixture there since.
