Great win. Huge win for down in Kerry too.

You not in the Davy out camp anymore?

Upandover

Much more fluent today, some great scores.

I'm definitely more out than in but I was an Antrim hurling fan before Davy and I'll be one after him.

The nature of the 3 defeats were very disappointing. Proper hammerings. Home wins over Westmeath and Laois were expected, decent point in Carlow. Overall, I would have been approaching this thinking an odd freak result and could we nick second so to still not be safe is a disappointing campaign overall.

Great result today, were a bit impatient at times. Davy will get it right eventually, might be next season but it'll come.

I thought we were on top for most of this game, went a bit wayward at times in the second half but we found more space and took our chances

Conor Johnston was brilliant today

Credit where it's due-the team delivered today when they needed to.

I felt we were that little bit more direct from the half back line which helped and the quality of the ball/decision making was so much better as compared to Waterford.

Maybe the opposition was part of the reason for that, who knows.

Job done but lets not get carried away with it, Laois were as poor as I have seen them in a long time.

Time to knuckle down and get right for the Championship, I think it could be a tough station.

It 100% was, but you can only beat what's there

Yes I don't think we will see a situation, that we have seen in the past, where only need to win one game to stay up.

Going by the league standings we are the weakest team in Leinster

Regardless of who it was, who did you expect us to beat in the league this year? Or is it the manner of the defeats to Waterford, Offaly and Dublin? We haven't been great and we should have beaten Carlow but snuck a draw at the death.

Dublin Waterford and now Offaly who have been growing these last few years are above us, we have lost two major players from last year, one to injury and the other retirement plus we have brought in a manager that is marmite, and to get us to change a style that Darren had us playing too was never going to give us much of a chance.

I think we drifted back to our own style a bit yesterday, a good spread of scores, dogged in defence and the harder ground and quickness actually suited us, I think we are still a bit light in terms of our physicality compared to lets say Dublin, Waterford and those in the league above us.

But we took advantage of Laois not being at the races and made hay in the sun that first half.

Lets look at things half full and not half empty

It was the manner of the defeats yeah, worrying that Offaly and Dublin seem to have kicked on and we have gone in reverse. We were beating them regularly and now we seem a million miles off that level. Antrim Laois and WM have regressed which is kind of worrying in that first season when we are supposed to get that new manager bounce.

But lets see how the championship goes.

Weve not been beating dublin regularly, quite the opposite.

Yes weve beaten offaly recently but they are building and are beating teams as witnessed this year with promotion to 1a.

I do wonder how many lads would be on the cusp of breaking through to Antrim senior?

Milltown Row2

I think we have unearthed a few recently, but as I said we need them to baulk up a bit more..

Have you any others in mind that could make a splash in the next few years ?

The rise of Offaly is unreal.

I didn't expect them to gain promotion this year anyway, I'd the Dubs and Waterford a good bit ahead of them, but fair play to Duignan and all involved in the Faithful fields development and infrastructure, it seems to be paying off.

Whether that's enough for a crack at a Leinster title or AI in the next while is anyone's guess, but it's good progress.
