Totally agree Exile!
Not sure why Derry kept lobbing stupid ball into the goalmouth in the last few minutes - there was no chance of pinching a goal - Skinner should have knocked over another couple of points.

Lets be honest cassidy has not got a clue. As a manager you have to be able to deal with players on and off the field. He has made a complete mess of things over this last couple of weeks and then today the team was headless. What about all these game plans he has talked about with the media. Would he or any of the rest of the management team inspire you to give all. Not good enough Full Stop.

Derry have the talent, the players are there. They just need to be let play football. Too much goes into tactics and trying to stop a team from playing. Best to go out and let your players play to their strengths and not be there to stop your opposition playing. Also good to have a good work ethic and well disciplined team.

That's just deluded. Look at the substitutes today
Tyrone: Brian Dooher, Sean O'Neill, Brian McGuigan, Colm McCullagh.
Derry: Niall McCusker, Seamus Bradley, Caolan O'Boyle and G McShane (haven't a clue what his first name is).
I know Derry were missing probably Doc, Kielt and Muldoon from starting XV but the two counties are not working with the same raw materials.

JMohan

There is undoubtedly talent in Derry.
Derry with a fully fit and unsuspended panel are a match for any county in the country - I would say they're not far off Tyrone.

To say Tyrone just have more talent isn't the whole answer to the story either ...

McMenamin's a sc**bag, plain and simple.  If Bradley had landed one on him, he'd have been the worst in the world and he has to be commended for not raising a fist.
Cork look like the only team which could give Tyrone a game at this stage of the year!

Might be wrong but I think Bradley trampled all over McMenamin before Tyrone went on up the field to score - McMenamin's reaction was a result of his treatment a few moments earlier and although maybe not defensible is understandable. Neither of the 2 parties concerned are angels!!!!!

I wouldnt know alot about Derry football but on that team today there was talented players.

Kevin McGuckin, Sean Marty Lockhart, Gerard O'Kane, Chrissy McKaigue, Barry McGoldrick, Eoin Bradley, Paddy Bradley, Mark Lynch and Niall McCusker. And then the players who wernt available today - Enda Muldoon, Fergal Doherty, James Kielt. Thats alot of talent for any team.

It just so happens that Tyrone have more talented players but the main thing is that they know how to play the system Harte has them playing. They are so used to playing this system it is second nature to them, and all they have to do is worry about keeping themselves fit. If any player went off injured or was unavailable for a game, Harte could put anyone on and they still would be able to play to that system.  Although the team is fairly settled, you look at the bench and there is alot of options available. Dooher, McGuigan, O'Neill, McCullagh, Holmes, Cavanagh, Carlin, McGee, Mellon etc.

I would say that Mickey Harte is well pleased.
we have played Armagh and Derry reached an Ulster Final and not got out of second gear yet. We prob wont even need
to peak to win the Ulster Final this is good news as its better to start playing well in August in Quarter Final/ Semi stage.

Its time that Derry people acknowledged something that I have been saying for years. Tyrone just have better Footballers
all over the pitch than Derry there is very little Damien Cassidy can do about that.

Any word on big Joe McMahon?

king of leon

Dissappointed with the manner of the defeat today, didnt get any decent ball into the full forward line and it cost us dearly.

Think mark lynch would be better playin CHB as he clearly isnt going well in the forward line.

Also thought Tyrone were far physically stronger in the tackle and played the ball a lot smarter, wheras Derry continually ran into the tackle with the ball and were unable to off load it.  McKaigue was a prime example although he was decent in open play.

Dont know where Derry will go from this.  Hopefully a kind draw in the qualifiers!

McGuckin was the fall guy for the previous 10 mins of filthy play from Derry. Someone has to go when you play that cynically.
