A very good first half display from ourselves this evening in Dromore, 13 points scored in the first half with 12 from play. Tattyreagh made a good fightback in the first ten minutes of the second half to bring the lead down to two points but never capitalised on it, we pulled it back to six and it was enough to hold on for.

Drumquin vs. Errigal Ciaran III - Errigal's third string was disappointing, they were certainly not the same team that hammered us off the pitch a fortnight ago, certainly lacked the same intensity I seen them with before. Drumquin did fairly well, opened up a lead early on, were racing away at half time (1-7 to 0-2) and didn't look to be threatened in the second half. From speaking to an Errigal man in Dromore tonight however, the only consolation they now have there is that - and this will frighten a lot of people - Daisy McDermott will be eligible to play in the Junior Reserve championship!

Does the list of 12 apply for the Championship? What way does it work for EC III?
I'm not rock solid on this, but I believe this is how Errigal Ciaran (or any other club who in future wishes to enter a thirds team) are handled.

First Errigal have to submit a list of their 40 best players. These players are down to play for either Errigal's first or second (reserve) team and cannot play for either the thirds or thirds reserve team in league, league cup or championship. Second, Errigal Ciaran have to submit a list of additional twelve players outside of the first list of fourty. These twelve players are ineligible to play for the thirds reserves in the league.

In championship football, eligibility to play in reserve championships is deemed not by the list of 12 players each club submits but by participation in the Senior, Intermediate or Junior Championship - once you play in any of those championship games, even as a sub, you are no longer able to play in the corresponding reserve championship that year. You are also not permitted to play in the reserve championship if you are/were a member of the Tyrone senior, under 21 or minor football championship squads, the latter only added this year I believe.

Therefore as daisy is obviously not on the first list of 40, if his name is on the list of 12 for the thirds team it doesn't matter as it counts for league only, and that he didn't play tonight in the JFC game against Drumquin, and isn't a member of any Tyrone county team this year, it means he's eligible to play for Errigal Ciaran in the Division 3 Reserve Championship. :o

A doubt Daisy was injured the night...

Clinker in Newtown tonight.

We led by seven, and Newtown fought back to level.
Extra time- We led by five, but Newtown come back and took the lead in the 20th minute ot ET. Second min of injury time with NTS howling for time, Owen Roes level.

Sixth minute (That's 6 minutes) of injury time in extra time, and Newtown go ahead. Ref blows it.

So by my calcualtions 6 minutes injury time in a ten minute period, woudl equate to 18 minutes in a normal half. Interesting.  :-\

Cookstown beat Moortown tonight (2-10 to 2-7) to keep the pressure on Greencastle.
I actually fancy Derrylaughan to snatch a draw on Sunday against Greencastle which would leave things very tight at the top.

i heard a rumour clarshack that your manager had left ??? do you care to comment ?

looks like it's Park & Logan to save the harps! 5 games left and 4 at home. win the 4 home games (killyman, edendork, killeeshil & rock) and we should be OK on 13 points.

WJ Dolan Intermediate Reserve Football Championship 2009
7th Aug

Greencastle St. Patrick's (2-12)
v
Killyman St. Mary's (2-13)

Bit of a shock result here?  Have to admire Killyman at championship level, in recent years they have won a D3 champ at senior, a D2 champ at senior (after finishing bottom of the league) and are now in a D2 rsserve champ final (there seniors are bottom of the league and are almost certs to go down to D3).  Wonder what players they had available to play in the reserve championship.  greencastle where flying high.

Not sure what players they had available but they finished the game with a 44 year old and a 46 year old playing

DD, I know Warner, and Marty were injured. I don't think Brendy is a senior panelist anymore to be honest.
