Settle an argument. Whats the penalty for a player assaulting an umpire picked by the club involved in the game?

It's a 48 week ban (96 weeks if repeat infraction) for assaulting officials. It shouldn't matter if the umpire is neutral, his own or the opposition's.

It's actually 96 weeks.

Either way he shouldn't have been given a yellow card.

Errigal ref gave a yellow card to aghyaran goalie for it in our game last night.

Benny Gallen?

Also what was the assault? Push, punch, verbal?

I suppose the Umpire did nothing to provoke him.

Regardless, the Errigal ref seems to have been completely in the wrong here. Thug behaviour needs to be stamped out of the game and lengthly bans, ground closures and explusions from comeptions is the only thing that is going to do it.

So describe what happened then?

We have a KWT man saying one of their people was pushed.
Was the umpire giving verbals, delaying the ball, preventing a quick kick out?

Maybe what need stamped out is non-players interfering with the game.

If you are trying to justify a player assaulting an official I seriously hope you aren't involved in coaching at any level

Assault or a push?

Tyrone11234

WT4E has gone quiet so it must have been mild. Club umpires deserve a push at times given some of their bias decisions.

WT4E

I'm not on all day lads. It was aggressive but didnt lead to injury but I didn't realise the rule had a threshold for neutrality or force.

I have bug bearer on this no matter if there is bias or not it shouldn't happen and unless refs play to the rules it won't go away.

The summary is the umpire gave a point to kildress that went over the post and the crowd where all 50 50 on it. The umpire was adamant and the ref gave it wide the keeper then pushed him aggressively and the umpire done well to stay on his feet. Ref booked the keeper I don't know what the rule is and it caused a big debate where we where watching.

If he had done the same to the ref would it have been yellow?

No it would have been a red and a 12 week ban.

Thanks

As the Ref gave it wide I can see why the Keeper would think the Umpire was not being honest.
I don't know the personalities involved but if your umpire is straight and makes honest calls I can see why you would be annoyed.
Was the other Umpire neutral or Aghayaran?

Aghyaran.

Good enough debate think the majority saying yellow was fine. Maybe rules need slight adjustment.
