surely strabane should be playing at the same time as urney and augher?

Sigersons are having their annual awards Dinner-Dance on this Saturday clar, and this might have prompted the earlier accommodation of the Strabane-Greencastle tie.

Absolute joke, enough said.

Just heard that Urney have made an objection to the County Board about the Strabane -v- Greencastle being moved to Friday.

I reckon they've pulled all their strings for one season in keeping their ground open  ;)
Carlsberg don't do Gombeenocracies, but by jaysus if they did...

He is recovering ok - there is a thread about it on the main gaa section.

Roger Keenan was manager originally but he left halfway through the season and a few men from within the club stepped in to see out the year. Not in the top 4.

Kiddo, 15th November is a Thursday ???  Please reconfirm date set for 1st game fixtures.  Also, did they say they will be playing a round every week so it finishes relatively quickly?
Beer, now there's a temporary solution!!!

KIDDO

Date should have been Sunday Nov 18th , competition will proceed 25th,  Dec2nd  finals Dec9th  , this however may be affected by the conclusion of the leagues , and the Ulster club competitions.

Thanks Kiddo,

Under 21 winner predictions:
Grade 1 = Coalisland
Grade 2 = Greencastle

Anyone else want to figure a guess.

Coalisland in theory should be easy enough winners - Errigal should have a say as will Cookstown -

Hard to know with grade 2 - Moortown ?

Not of my doing DD12, though there'll be some party in Clady if Greencastle do us over ;)

Nothing to do with you Fear, wasn't digging at you ;)  If Greencastle beat Strabane, Urney will have to hold the party until Sunday night because looking at it, if Augher beat Fintona & Urney lose to Drumquin, there will have to be a relegation playoff between Urney & Augher.  If Strabane though beat Greencastle on Friday night, it really does put the pressure on Urney to win on Sunday.  Subsequently an Strabane win will also relegate Augher on Friday night.

Cant see Urney losing though, looks like Strabne & Augher for junior ball next year although i still feel all games should be played at the same time - you cant have one rule for one club & different for other clubs.
Beer, now there's a temporary solution!!!

Of course you can have one rule for one club and another rule for another ! It's been happening all year so why stop now ? lol

What about the minor champions of 3 years ago, Carrickmore for this years U21 Championship?

tyrone86

2 ties leap out of that draw for the U21's as potential crackers.
Carrickmore 04 Minor Championship winners v Cookstown 04 Minor League winners and a McGinn and McCaul inspired Donaghmore v Errigal.

All going to plan you'd expect Errigal v Coalisland and Dromore v winner C'More/C'Town in the semis.

As for Grade 2 I'd fancy Augher to play the winners of Eglish and Kildress in the final.

sam03/05

yes cookstown v carrickmore should be the tie of the round.
Cookstown won the minor championship in 2003 with a very young team. Almost  all of the team were underage again in 2004 but Carrickmore defeated them in the semi final, althought Cookstown won the league that year. Most of that team have made it through to senior ranks so they will have players like Raymond Mulgrew, John Gilmore. Martin Murray, C O Hare at their disposal.

Although it really depends how much teams are up for it. given the time of year, and the fact that this tournament seems to have been treated as a joke by the county board. I would say it could be difficult to get lads motivated at this time of the season.
