With the way games are being refereed at the minute (dominated by the card hungry assessor) would anyone like to take a shot at guessing the card counts for the two senior semis as both are derby games??? Any word on who has got the 2 games??

Depending on the conditions, if its wet I'll go for 21 covering both games, that number inculdes double yellow.

Well if you were there you would have seen 3 mins afforded to Brian McGuigan who was down pretending to be injured before the last free was scored. 5mins was played and rightly so for all the dragging and foul play that was going on. Better team won and is threw.

Jerome McElroy sat game sun game Cathal O'Hagan Clonoe and Dromore the happier of the teams I would imagine
Having stood behind the clonoe dugout area at the carrickmore game I seem to recall Jerome Mc Elroy was doing the line and was tottally intimidated from start to finish by both Cassidy and maybe more so his assistant who shadowed him up and down the line guldering in his ear to put a flag up for every decision and have to say it worked almost every time , that man will never be strong enough to withstand the same presure x10 as a ref when he folded easily as a linesman.
Why does that man mcnamee never get a big game best ref in tyrone in my opinion.
Also agree with previous poster as to how does cathal o Hagan get to referee Dromore again are referees in that short supply?Having watched alot of club football in Tyrone this past few years these refs wud be ok or exc.
McNamee  exc
McHugh    exc
D O Neill    exc
Hurson      exc
COHagan   ok ex ardboe
sludden     ok ex clonoe and louth
Clithero     ok ex ardboe

McConnell
McCarron {Done the stown galb game}
McCaffrey
why can referees from different counties not do each others games then no club favouritism or presure cab be applied ?

I think that if O'hagan had blown the whistle after 3 minutes injury there wouldnt have been much said. The better team probably did come through all the same as Ardboe should have closed the game out but didnt and the replay showed how weak their defence is. Im sure nobody is happy at O'hagan getting the semi-final because he is a poor ref full stop, but maybe he will surprise everybody and keep the cards in his pocket and let the game flow

aChairde

I genuinely rated Cathal O'Hagan as a ref especially having seen him do games in the past number of years but I feel he has been chosen to please the assessor and the refs board (run by ex-refs most of whom were terrible themselves). I still genuinely believe that given more freedom to make calls himself he would be a top class whistler.

Jerome McElroy is another ref who pleases the assessors and could struggle with saturdays game. To be fair it will be a hard one to do as clonoe can be cynical at times and derryloughen could well try and drag the game down to a dogfight. He surely wont crumble to pressure from either line!

Overall Im shooting at 15 yellows incl doubles over the weekend. I also think a couple of straight reds may be shown over the weekend too. Really hope not though.

Dromore mates are telling me..... Nice impartial post MR99.  did u forget all the other incidents Cathal missed the first night? The video makes good watching there could have been 4 red cards during game and more for after final whistle

Whatever ref hands out the most cards will have a great shot at getting the final.

what is the forecast for weekend? I hear Dungannon cut up badly last weekend. if its rains heavy is there any plan to move the double header or at least one of the matches?
First on the field and last to leave

Mr. Nakata

If today's weather persists all weekend, the football will be ruined. I'm going for Clonoe and Omagh wins giving us a repeat of the '88 final and a jersey change in the showpiece.

ONeill

I think the Kevin Barrys will go close this weekend. Clonoe might have the experience, the manager and the talent but there's a lot to be said for a parish derby. This is a banana skin for the O'Rahilly's and I'd imagine the nerves will set in whilst Derrylaughan have nothing to lose and will throw the sink at them.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.
