I am sure the County Board would be more than happy to give yous a whistle and let you walk the walk....

I have heard/read this sort of comment many times 'shortage of refs' 'why not volunteer to ref yourself' etc... and often think its nonsense. The referees in Tyrone play a vital role in facilitating our games, it isn't an easy job which we all know and we are indebted to them for volunteering as we also are towards our own club players who commit and sacrifice a lot to allow us the opportunity to stand over the wire on a Friday evening but that still does not excuse the referees from being blatantly brutal at times and being held to account. Some of the referee displays I have seen over the years have been horrendous and are all too common now, surely the man in the middle who has a massive impact on the game should be up to standard. A lot of them I see now are power hungry and want to be the star of the show. Some however, are very good at their jobs who talk teams through games, explain their decisions and apply the rules consistently but they are in the minority unfortunately.

From Niall Gartland on twitter "This year in the Tyrone Club Football Championships there will be a fresh draw after each round to determine pairings for the subsequent round. This will apply to all three champinships"

Hi All,

First time back on the discussion board since the championship of the 24/25 season but I felt that the display I witnessed on Friday night from an official could not go on miss..

Smaller Clubs understandably seem to struggle to get men to step in a fulfil the role as the club official.

It appears Drumquinn have 2 available and as a fan of the GAA and club football in particular I think we would appreciate it if they looked about a different hobby.

But today, it is not Gary Gormley we are referring to, it is Sean Devenney who at this stage is simply taking the biscuit.

As a neutral, I went to the senior league match between Carrickmore & Pomeroy.

I think it spoke volumes of Seans display when after blowing the final whistle he felt the need to stand out on the field for an additonal 10 minutes to avoid any confrontation with the Pomeroy players/ management team.

2 red cards, multiple questionable calls against Pomeroy, it became laughable.

Carrickmore looked down and out with 45 mins played and in fairness kicked a few great scores but it got to a stage whereby Devenney might as well of kicked them over himself.

What clubs

Would like to hear what clubs. I have a few in mind.

Have seen somw very poor displays from the kids though with booing and shouting at opposition frees which is clearly allowed by their coach.

Agree some clubs seem to breed the "everyone hates us" slogan from a young age.

There's been a few rumbles coming out of Dungannon that Matthew Walsh, Mark Mckearney, Oran Mallon and Ciaran Barker are all coming back for the end of the league/start of the championship. When Conall Devlin gets fit and loose again plus the two Cowans coming back from international studies. I'll tell you what they'll be a hard team to stop in the championship if true.

Was in Bishop's there over the weekend for my brothers stag do — overheard a few of the Moy locals saying they would go unbeaten in Division 1 the way they are playing at the minute.

Thought this was absolutely mental so I went over and asked them to explain themselves and was told to never come back to the Moy again.

I was happy enough as the only good thing about the Moy is the road out of it.

Should know better than to challenge the supremacy of the Moy

Could really do with Paul Donaghy back to play 11 next year

Quote from: Jimbop on June 16, 2025, 07:39:45 PMCookstown will walk league and championship. Levels above the rest.

Cookstown streets ahead of anyone in Division 3. Have to be serious contenders for Ulster and All Ireland Junior honours?

Clogher spent 7 or 8 years in intermediate football but are streets behind cookstown who struggle to stay more than 1 year in it?

Cookstown would be favourites to win the championship due to their championship pedigree. But I'd put them slightly behind free scoring clogher when it comes to the league.

Cookstown in the driving seat now. Nobody in division 3 will touch them

Clogher would have to beat Cookstown by 4+ in the return game plus win every other game. Big Ask.

Cookstown are certainly in the driving seat after that result but if both teams win the rest of their games and it goes down to that return fixture I wouldn't see it as a big ask for clogher to beat them by 4+.

Bad video of that minor match last night

That Clonoe man shouldn't be allowed through the gates of any GAA match every again, police matter if you ask me

But sure what do you expect from Clonoe, start getting beat and the fighting begins, a tale as old as time
