If you left Clarkes pitch and drove for approximately up to 7 miles in any direction you will come across the following clubs ;

Edendork
Donaghmore
Galbally
Coalisland
Brackaville
Stewartstown
Clonoe
Killyman
Eglish
Kileeshil
Moy
Clonmore
Collegeland

Close to that then Rock, Maghery, Derrytresk,

Very tight compact area consisting of a large number of teams

Gael-in-exile

That is interesting to know as then if the line is drawn it around that Ballygawley, Canavan's and Dunmoyle area it shows a large portion of mountainous Forrest land which is likely unpopulated.

When I look at maps Errigal Ciaran seems to only have 2 parishes one large one very small. Errigal Keerogue & Errigal Trough (Open to correction)

Carrickmore would be probably twice the size. It has 2 parishes and granted it as 2 teams

Tyrone is densely populated to the East near the lough particularly and sparsely populated to the west (outside of a couple of biggish towns)

I'm open to correction on the exact Geography but that feels about right. The thing with Errigal is that in the next 10/15 years the population will only boom, as Ballygawley will be one of the best commuter Villages in the North of the Island when the A5 is done.

Time to split Dublin & Errigal in 2

Add in Jack McCarron to Errigal's forward line. Only a matter of how many All Irelands will they win never mind if they get one this year.

On transfers, is Padraig Cassidy swapping Slaughtneil for Carrickmore?

Did Ballygawley St Ciaran's not cover the same parish boundaries as Errigal currently to today? I know the carry on with Glencull but previous to the Glencull split did the St Ciaran's club not cover the same area? I'm not of an age to know this.

Going by the last two annual reports for the county convention the only club comparable in terms of membership / numbers was Galbally which I found strange enough. Maybe Galbally are growing rapidly but found it surprising.

Do conventions list how many members each club have?

Yes have seen it on the annual report before. I remember looking at one year and seeing that we had nearly the most members in Tyrone which I didn't understand, bigger than omagh for example. Would be interesting to get some insights into it.

We have always done it right but I know clubs in the past would inflate the numbers in order to enhance their ticket allocation when Tyrone where in the AI final territory.

Always wondered where you could get the amount of members in a club.

Does anybody know what the current list is?

Quote from: SaffronSports on December 13, 2024, 11:43:53 AMThere was a great article on gaa.ie about the split that ended with the formation of Errigal Ciaran. Very informative.

TLDR: When you have a genius of a player sitting not getting football, it's v easy to get over a wee row

Carmen1932

Some dung talked about Errigal on here recently - in the same situation as anyone else. Every team can only have 15 on the pitch at the one time. Quit yapping. Doesn't matter if they have 75 players or 25 out at training.
If Darragh & RuairĂ weren't so good there would be nobody complaining.
