They'll have a bounty on their head this year. By the end of the season they'd wish they weren't in it.

LOL What? You think teams in D1 care what happened in D2. Long term D1 players wouldn't have a clue what's going on in D2. The decision only affects two teams, Greencastle and Yarn, that will not meet again until next year.

laceer

Shitty enough from Greencastle imo.

You think all the posts on here regarding this issues are only from Div 2 clubs. The whole fiasco has f**ked up the fixture schedule also. Clubs not knowing when ACL starts, no fixtures out....nothing - all as a result of this.
Admittedly, the U20's winning last week got the CCC a get out of jail card as the leagues were due to start next Friday and there was f**k all announced fixture wise which was all down to this affair.
Now hopefully in the next day or so, the fixture schedule is out and we can get down to playing the real GAA football

Absolutely.
There doesnt seem to be any dispute that they were guilty, just that the wrong person complained about it.
While I would have some sympathy for the young lad involved in this and the suspension that he got, I would have none for greencastle and they should have been stripped of the league IMO.
I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either

laceer

100%. Plenty of clubs, including my own, could have been doing without that rule but we abided by it, and it seems we shouldn't have bothered.

I see Declan Mcaleer has a pic up of Sean Teague endorsing hie election campaign. This whole Greencastle fiasco could be forgotten about very quickly. It must be his turn to be back on team talk show shortly anyway

skeog

Nothing wrong with Sean endorsing Declan nobodys business.

What's the story now with county players and the start of the league?
After today they need to be playing every game going to improve fitness for a start.
