Pomeroy only played 14 games, cookstown didn't field on the last day.

Good defence sets the foundation to build on, if your difficult to score against you wont lose many games.  The issue is that usually that isn't so pleasing on the eye (The Donegal Model).

Teams are now finding a middle ground based on a defensive base with a pacey counter attacking style and I think Killyclogher have shown that working well with the work rate to win turnover ball then attack at pace.
Living the dream!!!

Hard to get excited about Rock in an Ulster Junior final two years later. Yo-yo up and down like Cookstown - would be better achievment to develop  and stay in Intermediate. Pomeroy is different though with only three players about since their last Ulster final win 10 years ago or so. good luck to them getting there again

Cookstown not doing too much yo-yoing these days in fairness. Firmly cemented to mid table div 2 this past while and look to be going nowhere fast.

You have to wonder if Rock players get same buzz out of it having been there before, some of them a few times. Still an ulster final i suppose and not something too many of us have achieved.

You'd have to fancy Pomeroy for the intermediate title given they are playing with 3 county panelists at this level.

In Mulligan's book he said it didn't mean the same the second time winning All Ireland club and more or less they shouldn't have been in that division. I thought there was a rule that a team couldnt be back in the competition within five years?

Think you're right there. A Tyrone hurling club got to the All Ireland final and they couldn't enter Ulster for the next 5 years that was junior hurling but I'd assume the rule is association wide.

musnt be sure Rock won Ulster it a couple of years ago

Think the rule is that you can't defend an Ulster Intermediate or Junior the following season.

Could see the Rock struggling again in division 2 next season.
Hard to know how the derg will get on.

clarshack, you lads haven't set that div2 alight in recent seasons so it must be a tough league. However, I feel Rock would hold their own as they have recent experience in it whereas the 'Derg have none therefore may struggle.
Any word on a manager down your way ?

You're 100% right about us. Seriously underachieving - a bit like Pomeroy before this year. Pomeroy should have won u21s 3 seasons ago and only took until now to get up. Hopefully we get a decent man in and get our act together because the potential is there.

You never answered the question - who is in the running?

I heard a few big names mentioned to try and sort you lads out !!

Rock we're beat by loughmacrory in play off last year..........who benefitted most from that and are having a memorable season?

Would have thought Loughmacrory benefitted more? From escaping relegation they went onto win the Ulster Intermediate League and reached the promotion playoff places this season.
