1000 litres is 1200 quid. That can't be sustained

Tankers are sitting either side of this strait and just waiting to be allowed through, can ya imagine working on these things! Be waiting on the pirates coming along with an RPG..

I think China's positioning has had more of an impact on this than people are realising.

14M Chinese Yuan ($2M) per boat out of there is some deal.

No one has agreed to $2M per boat, that is just Iran's initial demands.

Said as much at start that China will be ones pressuring Iran to stop.

Their railways got hit badly by Israel. Iran got a large number of old IRGC commanders taken out and foolishly gave into chinese pressure.

They had Trump in a corner and just needed to keep at it for another 2 months maybe.

Beirut is already getting hammered, Hezbollah 2.0 taken down to the studs.

60% of American adults have an unfavourable view of Israel acc to Frank Luntz. It would be 100% in an open media environment.

Well there's lots of countries already paying it as boats were passing before this deadline.

I take it that all governments pay and charge if going through their own waterways? Panama for instance, up to 1million dollars for large tankers

Panama & Suez are both wholly within 1 jurisdiction, the straits of hormuz certainly aren't, dont see how that 'we have dominion' over the strait / ability to charge a toll is going to wash in the long run.

It's a Trump tariff and Iran have kindly decided to share it with the Omanians.

That's pretty much illegal under UN law. Countries bordering a straight are not allowed to charge simply for passing through. They can only charge for specific services like piloting / towing. Easy got round i suppose.

Rossfan

Attacking Iran and Lebanon is illegal too.
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

The UN may as well not exist while the US can veto everything.

Iran pretty much do what they want and make up their own rules. They pick and choose who to charge and who to let through for free.
