Quote from: Eamonnca1 on March 04, 2026, 06:53:55 PMJames Talarico has won the Dem primary in Texas and could be on his way to flipping a senate seat. Betting markets so far are putting his odds at 40%, but that could change. This could be major if he pulls it off and wins a statewide race. I read before that TX is on schedule to turn blue in 2028, so this will put that theory to the test.

Dunno like, theyve been beating that drum since Hillary 2016 and it's only went the other way. If the Dems can't even win border Hispanic counties what chance do they really have?

Quote from: Sportacus on March 04, 2026, 06:25:28 PMNot that I'm in favour of oppressive regimes, or people's bills going up here, but it would be satisfying if the Americans and Israeli's fail to break the Iranians.
The Iranians have been preparing for this for years.

Seems that way, if the footage of their missiles getting through is anything to go by. (Hard to tell which of it is AI though. I hate technology sometimes.)
Forget the exact figures but the Iranian missiles are costing in the thousands to replace whereas the Israel/US defense ones are millions each.

Where money could be spent on a 101 things to improve the people in the USA, whilst near $40 trillion in debt and it rising fast , money will always be printed for war.
A good investigation would be who the majority share holders are in the big rust belt munitions factory's and their links to various politician's. The USA will be at war with someone or backing a lapdog in war forever

Back to this sort of stuff again. If you don't find this funny you have a heart of stone. A white westerner in a Keffiyeh (wrong one) who thinks he knows best trying to tell Iranians to be outraged, only to be called an idiot by them.

Also notice the woman telling them to "go back to their own country and change it".
These people have no clue. I'm convinced they only heard of Iran a week ago.

there are Iranians who agree with this white westerner.. it just so happens these don't. it doesn't invalidate the westerners opinions just because some Iranians disagree.

Would i be an idiot if i disagree with an america about Trump? just because I am irish and the are American?

If you tried to tell an American that their lived experience as an American was untrue, whilst wearing a cowboy hat, yes you would look like an idiot.

I should have added for context I didn't  watch the clip. but I think its ridiculous to think all Iranians have the same opinions which is the suggestion here and no Iranians could have the same opinions as westerners

Is it only the cowboy hat element that makes me look like an idiot!!!

So there lived experience is they love trump, I think he he's an idiot... for telling them i disagree with their lived experience I am an idiot...

equally using your logic if there lived experience is they hate trump and I think he is great...for disagreeing with their lived experience I am an idiot.

Glenn Beck asks an AI George Washington what he would think of Israel. The cringe is off the charts

https://nitter.net/glennbeck/status/2028936634377339145#m

Reminded me of good book by George Ball on the Taboo of Israels geostrategic utility called "The Passionate Attachment"

He said in early 90s with cold war ending Israel had no geostrategic use and that we would soon be hearing about "radical Islamic terrorism" [youtube has a 1993 interview].

Well it depends on what that Americans opinion of Trump is doesn't it :D

It's hard to know exactly what is going on.
The Yanks saying they've total control of the airspace over Iran yet the Iranians seem to be able to get loads of missiles and drones off towards Israel and US bases over the middle East.

Somewhere in between is the truth

This gave me a good laugh.
I think Trump is a bit of a dose but if he solved world hunger these people would cheer for hunger.

Why so?

Irish people who have likely never been within a thousand mile of Iran trying to tell actual real life Iranians that they shouldn't be joyous that their country's brutal dictators 37 year reign is over.

Venezuela is so last month. On to the next trendy outrage.

I don't see it like that. The two are not exclusive. You can disagree with how the US/ Israel got involved and certainly with the indiscriminate manner of the attacks that left a girls school in Minab blown to bits. And believe this is another sign of USreal interfering in overseas affairs. And still accept that the removal of the Supreme leader is a good thing for the country.

The guy actually explains the above views in his statements.

And who will replace the supreme leader in Iran?

The Taliban are back in control of Afghanistan, we've an al-Qaeda lad installed in Syria, we've a mess in Libya and Iraq isn't much better.
There is no Al Qaeda lad installed in Syria, the 'lad' Ahmed al-Sharaa and the provisional government are direct opponents of Al Qaeda.

just ignore his activity before 2015/16?
Though the Kremlin never misses a chance to not forget an item from the past in order to discredit a regime which is counter to its present day interests,  what applied in 2015 in Syria does not apply now to the instituted ideology and policy of the provisional government of Syria which just happens to not only be in direct opposition to the pan Islamic ideology of Al Qaeda but also the Kremlin. Not only was the vicious regime of the tyrant Assad overthrown in Syria but also the prisons were opened up and tens of thousands of the tortured and incarcerated were released and  Russian military presence, a fundamental 'underpinner' of that horrific regime, was expelled from the land.

some use of AI there

I know.. I can't tell shit from shit now..
You are not alone in telling shite from shite.

Who if any have the slightest awareness of what is happening in Syria?  perhaps you are all beholding to Kremlin enhanced image of Assad as the kindly uncle benefactor of the Syrian nation, not the Assad who slaughtered Palestinian refugees by the thousands.
Irish supposedly pro Palestinians don't like to talk about that one do they?

If ever a thread needed people to Hagar an @handle function instead of a reply function, this is it.

It's unreadable folks.

Unreadable.

A bit like the situation in the Middle East.

Hadnt any money to fund Ukraine weapons, but went through a few billion in a week kissing Israelis ass!

It's easier to name bad nations that have lost their shit than naming decent nations who have their shit together.

Head down arse up and enjoy your life, what's left of it that is.
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

you do love a tangent... back to the original point you tried to make...  Was al julani leader of al nusra front before 2016 and were they linked to al-Qaeda and what was he at in Iraq in the 2000s and then since you brought it up did they also massacre Palestinians in Syria?

not sure how we have got to Assad and kremlin rants.

They weren't able to "regime change" Gaza despite having it boxed in on all sides.

This is just Israel squeezing ZionDon of every last bit of usefulness as US public opinion turns and the brainwashed older gen die off.

Reality is Israel will cry uncle yet again when they run out of interceptors.

The big unknown is IF Iran will stop.
