Genuine question: How many people here get their news from CNN? The only time I ever see it is when I'm passing through airports. The thought process on the right seems to be as follows:

1 - CNN has a liburl bias
2 - All liburls get all of their news from CNN
3 - Ergo all liburls are brainwashed

When did CNN become the bogeyman of the right? Was it when Fox News started cranking out their propaganda and felt the need to claim that there was an equally biased news outlet on the left, and CNN was as handy a target as any?

It is exactly that.

CNN has very little content. It's mostly ads for other CNN shows. I don't know how anyyone can watch it.

Saying someone "watches CNN" is a "figure of speech" used to describe an uninformed  person such as Eamonn who constantly shares unproven left wing conspiracy theories

Nothing in his record indicates that Putin would not have invaded Ukraine had Trump been around. FFS Trump is now even loudly and ludicrously even blaming Zelensky for starting the war and calling HIM a dictator! Three years ago he called the invasion by Putin an act of genius! He publicly discounted the findings of the US intelligence services in favour of the Putin line at that Finland summit in his first term. He is officially aligning the US with Putin against Ukraine and Europe. Hegseth couldn't even name one thing Putin would have to give up for "peace" when asked last week, as opposed to Ukraine having to sacrifice a big chunk of their sovereign territory. The MAGAt world has been howling for the last three years about the amount of aid the US has been sending to Ukraine. A few weeks' worth of Javelin missiles (which he tried to use as a pawn in the blackmail scheme he was using to get dirt on Biden) does not outweigh the blindingly obvious evidence that Trump is, for whatever reason, completely enamored with and cowed by Putin.

The only thing different that would have happened is that Trump would have sold Zelensky and the Ukrainians out on day one as he is doing right now.

There are 2 sides to every single topic discussed here, but many posters simply accept the "CNN" type left wing interpretation of events.

 I hear exactly the same from people I speak to in Ireland-smart, we'll educated people who have this whole "Democrat Good/Republican Bad" interpretation of the world

Anyways back to Ukraine


So how do you account for Trump actually sending weapons to Ukraine as opposed to Obama sending blankets and MREs.

And Obama's response to the initial invasion left a lot to be desired

But I'm not disputing that Obama's actions were inadequate. His reasons at the time (fear of provocation/escalation) appear naive or negligent or misguided in retrospect.

I'm disputing that your claim that the sale of 200 (not thousands) individual missiles to be housed away from the battlefield (weapons which Trump was apparently reluctant to sign off on and, again, tried to use as leverage for blackmail when Zelensky came back looking for more) somehow outweighs all the other evidence that Trump has nothing but contempt for Ukraine and sympathy for Putin.

Its like if you saw someone in difficulty in the water, threw them a half-inflated floatation device, and then just stood back as they continued to flounder and said "f**k it, not my problem" and let them drown.
