What's the basis for your categorizations?

Eisenhower, for example- Supreme Commander of the Allied forces in Europe, overseeing the retaking of North Africa and the D-Day invasion, as well as being a two term president. I'm sure he had weaknesses like any man and policies you find objectionable like any national leader, but writing him off as an idiot?

If Trump wins, how long will it be before there's talk he deserves a 3rd term?? Constitutional matters don't really register in that camp I reckon.

Up to his neck in Vietnam too. Didn't he lie under oath to congress about American involvement and having troops on the ground?

Different times I suppose, Democrats and Republicans weren't at each others' throats as much then. In today's world  he would have been impeached.

Trump excites the base and really spent a lot of energy focusing on the 80 M people who sat out 2020. Haley wouldn't be able to do that

Some Republicans are just so thick they actually think Trump is a good choice. Many others (conservative leaning independents) just think he's less worse than Harris

Good general no doubt but does that make you a smart person? Even his record as a general isn't really outstanding. He just used the material strength of the allies to overwhelm German resistance. In North Africa and Western Europe he was facing 500k Axis troops. The Russian army in the East overcame 10 times that.

Ike signed off on the Bay of Pigs invasion and the overthrow of democracy in Iran, best to say his reputation is tattered at best. Also threw Marshall to the dogs during McCarthys red scare, his boss during WW2 and the man most responsible for American military success.
