Clarkie in a half-forward position?

Not a great line up. Dodgy full back line, lack of pace in half back line and the midfield pairing haven't been great the past few games. It could be a struggle.
That's just, like your opinion man.

if cross players are available i'd play p kernan, p mckeown and a kernan in the defence and prob both sk and tk in the forwards. think mckenna would most likely come on to partner toner in the middle.

I fail to see why you are regarding these cross players so highly at county level yet. McKeown has potential and was solid for the u21s on wed night but expecting him to come straight into the senior team, unproven, for a debut ahead of lads who have been doing well at this level is nonsensical. aaron is provn and should come straight in. tony k hasn't been great for his club and showed no evidence of being good enough last year. he'll not be starting ahead of any regulars either i douby. steven k isn't getting on his club team yet you're going to start him in a pivotal position for armagh?

Agree with all of that apart from Aaron Kernan. It may be heresy, but sorry i don't think we can afford the luxury of Aaron at wing back anymore. He's nifty going forward but his first role is defend, and he's giving up too many scores to be successful in that dept. I don't see why he can't be played as a half forward. Let him drop deep and attack. Any defensive nous he has picked up could be well used in a deeper half forward role imo.

Very underwhelmed by the team myself. Think we'll struggle in this one.

I'm assuming the 15 that'll take the pitch on sunday will differ from that bunch - unless injuries are playing a part?  If that 15 do play we'll get tanked, no doubt about it.  At the very least I'd assume there'd be positional changes.  Playing silly buggers with Geezer hopefully.

Bit out of touch lads. i'm assuming the cross lads haven't been training with the county and the usual question marks hang over both kernans?
from reports it seems moriarty, lavery and vernon have been struggling?

would imagine stevy and clarke be 2 men inside sk go to the half forward line and tk be given a free role

Don't think its fair to say vernon has been struggling. Lavery hasn't been great but you have to remember how long he's been out. A return to the club for a couple of months once the league starts to get him back to match sharpness might do him the word of good. Backline in general has looked weak, particularly when you take Ciaran out of there.

Don't know what yous were expecting lads, there 10 probable Championship starters there and four possible Championship players either as starter or sub.

Uladh, Vernon has been impressive to date. As TAC says, Lavery is just back from injury, would be unfair to expect him to be dominating yet.

was thinking that myself.  would imagine the only certain starters to come in would be donaghy/toner, mcgrane, hearty and ak.  more of a transitional year i would expect this is echoed by the bookies 25/1 for sam

There'll be alot of unhappy fellas on the panel if that is the starting line up for sunday,  :-\

And as I keept telling you Charlie, Hearty is not a cert.  :P

This is the team I EXPECT, injury permitting, for the Tyrone game:

Hearty
Mallon Donaghy Moriarty
McKeever AOR AK
Vernon McGrane
MOR SK Mallon
McDonnell Clarke Barnsey.

Interesting to see McEvoy in goals. Did he not start last week and does this mean he has come out ahead of Rodgers in the championship panel stakes? Fiinn Mo. played well last year but, like some others, is in a bad run of form giving away too many silly frees. When you consider how quickly Martin was taken ashore against Monaghan not to figure again he has to be considered very lucky. Would also hope that Kevin O'Rourke has not been dropped as apart from the last game he has been showing up well lately. Heard he might be injured. As always I worry about Mallon and MOR playing together as I feel they both try and play in the same areas. SK would also be in this category. Speaking of SK unlike many I am a fan of his, however, come championship time I would prefer to see him coming off the bench when players are tiring. I believe his paaing would help exploit the spaces at these times. When he starts games I feel he can get lost a bit. Tomorrow I would also like to see Henderson introduced as a second half sub. He is a finisher and we need to see if we need a change come championship time if he is the man to do it. Am not very hopeful for tomorrow. The game may also tell a tale of the spirit in the Armagh camp at the minute. In the games against Laois and Monaghan when the going got tough too many lay down. Hopefully the old spirit can return and we can see Armagh on the up again.
