Well we need to get 2 Half backs either side of Mc Keever, and it is only opinion that they should be Kernan and JP, coz no way should AOR be anywhere near it

I was one of the ones who thought o'rourke had a fairly decent game on sat night... that's me told!

I'm not sure they'll start any cross men on sunday - how would that sit with the rest of the panel? 3/4 of them on the bench i'd imagine.

team for sunday -

             McEvoy
Shannon  Martin  Mallon
Duffy     O'Rourke McKeever
       Toner    Vernon
O'Rourke  Mallon  AN Other
McDonnell Clarke  Forker

Armagh were caught time and again with the high ball onto the square and Vincy Martin probably would have dealt with that if he'd been there - something else moriarty has proved he can't deal with.

naka

i think we have to start some of the cross boys on sunday, kildare are flying so lets see who can step up, I think moriarity has struggled this year so would try both mc keown in the full back line and would try kernan in the half back line( he did alright yesterday when switched with bellew),
ak has to start, was dissappointed with mc kenna yesterday but would start him in midfield with toner lets see does he cut the mustard yet
would try charlie ina different spot as he is too smal for midfield
was it just me or did hearty look extremely overweight
mc evoy
mallon  donaghy mc keown
ak   cmck  pk
toner and mc kenna
mallon vernon toal
smcd clarke t kernan

Keeper will be interesting this weekend. Does everyone assume that Hearty will be an automatci Championship starter or have the other two put pressure on?

Anyways, by all rights it shoould be Rodgers in goal if the rotation policy is to continue.

Why isn't McKinney from the Ogs on the panel?  Don't remember him putting a foot wrong.

And, yes, I thought Hearty seemed heavier than usual.

He decided to leave the panel at the start of the year. Most people would agree it was a real pity though McDonnell has talked about trying to persuade him back.

Thank God my mother left Mullaghbawn if they can't even teach ye to see a wind up when it is straight in front of you!

Careful now BC..remember you have Mullaghbawn blood and any wee bit of football that was in ya came from the Quinns  ;D ;D ;D
Nice guys always finish second!

Decent performance last night fom the u21s - particularly toner and jamie clarke. clarke is looking like the real deal and he will hopefully fill out over the next couple of years. forker coming back in will strengthen them considerably.

Where is Paddy McKeever? He's an option for left full forward.
He was in the crowd for the Monaghan game - I dont know what the set up is there?

He was injured. Not sure how he is now. I'd be happy to see Paddy at centre forward. IMO his best position.

Benny Tierney hinted in his column in the IN yesterday that Geezer is unsure of what reaction he's going to get from the Armagh support on Sunday, I don't imagine he's going to have anything to worry about.
Naka's team is the closest one for me although Donaghy won't make it, I would try PK in FB with Barry Shannon in at wing back.
It is vital that we get some ball in midfield as we could well be over run if we can't get ball there. Kildare have two mighty fielders, but they wouldn't be the most mobile so goal kicks are going to be very important. I would persist with McEvoy as he has the most accurate kick out of the three goalie candidates. Hearty has a habit of lumping it as far as he can which would suit Early and Brennan and if he tries to kick it to the wings he kicks a far few over the sidleines. That's a potent enough forward line but getting them the ball is going to be the big problem.

Keep your pecker hard and your powder dry and the world will turn.

think mcevoy should get another game and c mckeever should be chb. the games against laois and monaghan armagh opened up straight down the middle as soon as he came off and conceded 2 goals. k o'rourke and clarke should start in the full forward line and i think someone else should be tried at chf as i dont think mallon has been very effective there so far. if cross players are available i'd play p kernan, p mckeown and a kernan in the defence and prob both sk and tk in the forwards. think mckenna would most likely come on to partner toner in the middle. though you just wouldnt know what sorta line up we'll get. I'd say this result will matter more to mcgeeney than mcdonnell.

I would love to see it.  I enjoy watching Paddy a great deal

Can't imagine any Armagh supporter giving Geezer anything other than a great reception. I'd be completely embarrased for anybody who behaved otherwise. McGeeney is a legend of our county and deserves the utmost respect and admiration for all he gave us during his career and hopefully his contribution to Armagh football will continue in the future.

Some of the Clones drink on the bus June brigade could do anything. But those who travel to an away league game will only have respect for the man.

With the need for Armagh to try out players (Cross + Toner) that haven't been tested in the League, this is a difficult assignment for Armagh.

I'd be stunned if he didn't get a rousing welcome.

Nothing against McDonnell, but in reality he and Grimley sould be at the helm.
