GAA Board is not a level playing field

Why is there not a seperate forum here to deal with handball, one for rounders, one for SCOR and one for the Irish language? To even call this a proper GAA Board is an insult while there is no recognition given to these very important aspects of the GAA ethos: Discuss  :)

Ya.......I often noticed on the homepage, the forums are:

GAA Discussion and Hurling Discussion.

Its not right.

It should be Gaelic Football discussion and Hurling Discussion.

Maybe another forum then for Handball, rounders and Scor all in one.

In fairness there wouldnt be much discussion on them

Hurling was given a separate forum and the number of posts on hurling issues has decreased considerable. Last September you would have hardly known that the All Ireland hurling final was on. It is much better to keep all GAA related topics together in the same fourm. This is just my opinion though.
We'll win Ulster some day, not sure when.

And how much discussion do you think there will be on handball or the scor never mind rounders ffs!

There's not even that much hurling discussion.

So the debate about Cork hurlers is a small one???? ;)

I agree

(Ah slightly off topic Azzurii but why do you have a line from a song written by The Saw Doctors under a picture of Bono?)

The reason why there are not seperate forums to deal with handball, rounders, SCOR and Irish language is that there is not enough interest in the wider GAA community never mind enough interest frolm those that participate on this forum alone. Therefore your assertion that these are very important aspects of the GAA's ethos is incorrect really.

There are threads that pop up from time to time, where necessary to discuss these issues as and when they arise - this is sufficent.

If there were different sections, they would get minimal traffic.

Do that and any hurling topic will be on page 3 in about an hour.

If I came on here to find out something about rounders, handball, SCOR or the Irish language it would be far easier to get information about them if there was a section to peruse. There is nothing worse than having to trawl an entire message board to get the information. Plus with the rate of replies that abound here stuff tends to get buried pages back very easily. Does not common courtesy apply to show acknowledgement of these other aspects? From what I've read here drinking could be assumed to be an official GAA sport.

I understand your argument but not too many people go into the hurling forum. Maybe I'm wrong, but I always thought more people contributed to hurling discussion when there was only one GAA forum.

Since I've joined here I've rarely ventured into the football aspect of things. It is not as if it would take a huge amount of cost to create a seperate forum even if the aspects I mentioned were as one group. This would to me indicate a step forward in thinking and show that there is a mindset of positive rather than negative thinking in existance on this board.

I would suggest that this site would not be the best place to find out something about rounders, handball, SCOR or the Irish language. If the association itself barely extends common courtesy to these other aspects I'm intrigued as to why you feel an independently run discussion board should do so, when the interest in the majority of the GAA population is minimal at best.

So you want someone to create a seperate forum just for you? Here's an idea, if you feel there is a gap in the provision of information on these aspects of the GAA then perhaps you could look into setting up your own website to cater exclusively for them. It's not as if it would take a huge amount of cost.....
