It's their own business if they don't release the team to the press but i'd be alarmed if the players didn't know the team well in advance.
Surely they need to prepare for their job and the possible men they'll be against?

Yeah, I'd like to think that the man in charge would have a fair idea of his starting team for any match at least a week before it. This gives 2 or 3 training sessions to work on things specific to the upcoming match. It would be very worrying if this wasn't the case.

Heard rumour that Clarke is out for Sunday.  Monaghan 6/4 looking like a steal.

If thats the case Benny Lump on...I'm lumping on anyway as i can't see Armagh getting anything from this game, even if Clarke plays i think Monaghan will win the midfield battle easy therefore Clarke won't see much of the ball anyway...

Bring the coat. The Athletic grounds is not overburdened with covered seats in its current configuration.

Sunday will be a bitterly cold and windy day with strong westerly winds and blustery wintry showers but there will be bright or sunny spells also. Some of the showers will be of hail or sleet, with snow on high ground, and some heavy and possibly thundery.

And that's only the shower making their way up from Lurgan.

That looks good. I think we're actually starting to build a panel, raher than just a starting 15. That's a very tidy starting line-out, but it's great to have the likes of McQuaid, McGuigan, Ronaghan, McKenna and Hanratty on the bench.

This is the detail for season ticket holders on the GAA's site:
Armagh v. Monaghan, Athletics Grounds, Armagh: Stile adjacent to Players' Entrance, beside building attached to Covered Stand.
Any Armagh fans able to give any clearer direction? It's been a long time since i have been at a match at the Athletics Grounds! I know where it is, but what end of the ground do you need to come in at to get to this gate and where is best to park? (I'll be coming from Belfast direction rather than Monaghan.)

McKeever McClelland Shannon
Lavery Vernon
MOR Mallon Henderson
Barnsey Clarke McDonnell

Armagh forward line looks very strong.

Rodgers needs a big perofrmance or else McEvoy will be out of site.

Martin has done well so far but the acid test comes tomorrow, will be an interesting battle. Glad to see Shannon in the half back line, he should attack well. McKeever also.

As I said, Lavery should not be judged on Laois alone, but he more than anybody needs a good showing tomorrow.

Forward line looks capable. Monaghan by two.

With Paddy Power;

Armagh 4/6
Monaghan 6/4
Draw 15/2

Monaghan are some bet at those odds!
Yep, i've just had a bit of a flutter on those odds myself.

Yeah it's a strong looking line-up. Would have liked to see McGuigan starting though, but at the same time it's good to have players like him to come off the bench. Even though I maintain McManus is better in the half-forward line, he seems to be settling down very well at wing-back, and I suppose why would you move him after his last two performances. If he continues playing anything like that for the rest of the league he'll be a cert at no. 5 for the championship. I still worry about him defensively, bigger tests lie ahead than the last two games. Games like tomorrows and Cork will be better indicators. Downey in the corner is interesting, maybe Banty is planning to bring him out and playing a two-man full-forward line.

On what basis would McEvoy be out of sight Corn? Have only missed the Wexford match so far but I'd say there's very little between the two. McEvoy made a couple of great saves against Laois, but Rodgers did similar against Antrim in the Athletic Grounds. Both have been reasonable enough with the kick outs, if not coming close to matching Hearty's length. Would have thought there's a spot in the squad very much up for grabs.

Happy with the side named. Still think we're weak enough defensively and wouldn't really expect us to win which we need to if promotion is to be a possiblity. Still most of the players we need to see more of are getting another chance. Would be great to see two good performances from Lavery and McClelland. Plenty of scoring threat in the forwards too hopefully.

Here what ever happened to Ronan Austin? He was in the McKenna Cup panel wasn't he but didn't feature. Did he get injured or did he just not get a chance?
