AnPort, you would be wrong to not be bothered, but you are correct in saying he is nowhere near £30 million. A bit of a hyperbole about him the last few weeks, no doubt increased with the possibility of a Liverpool bid.

I dont think Xabi stayin and the gooners are keen. dropping Gerrard back will allow him to get into the game more spread play a bit more, think this is where you see the best of him

Cant agree with that, have you not seen his performances in the advanced role with Torres? I hope Tevez/Barry do not come at the expense of Alonso leaving. Gerrard has to play in a far more advanced role than you have him there, Alonso is already there to "spread play" & he does it better than anyone in the EPL at present.

Offensively superb, defensively not as good as Skrtl.

In the matches against the likes of Stoke/Hull etc, we should play Agger because his forward runds will be perfect against teams packing the defence. I would rather see Skrtl in against top-half teams.

Likewise I think Kuyt can be sacraficed against bottom-half teams (unless he continues the goal rush).

Xabi has to stay, he has been immense this season and one of the major factors in us getting our best points total ever. To see him to Arsenal would be ridiculous and you would really have to question rafa if he did.

Leave Gerrard where he is. His partnership with Torres has become one of the best in the world and this is partly due to him not worrying about his defensive game because he has Masch and Alonso sitting.

No.

You don't think its possible that he has seen a chance to get at Fergie while signing a fantastic player and is prepared to part with 3-4 extra million for that chance.

I see where you are coming from An Port but Liverpool faltered this season because their squad was not good enough, not their first 11.

I do believe that if Gerrard and Torress had have been fit all season we would have won it IMHO. As predicted by United posters mid-season, we did not have the squad to maintain the challenege.

Start with my 11, with possibility of Silva for Kuyt or Yossi, you will have a bench of: Silva/Yossi/Kuyt, Arbeloa, Insua, Babel and Zarate/Tuncay/Owen if all who I would like to arrive, arrive.
