Actually thought Wirtz had a decent game tonight.

Same. I thought 2 Liverpool players butchered chances for him by getting in his way.

Simeone is good at the Sh1thousery stuff but he does not receive it well.

€2.1 million in the bank after that result!

Posed plenty of problems for Atletico i thought, and in even better news Ekitike was just as impressive in his cameo replacing Isak

Simeone complaining that a Liverpool fan gave him the finger might just be the biggest head loss I've ever seen on a football pitch

I think he needs to play closer to the main striker.  There was one brilliant link up with Isak in the first half which nearly led to a goal. A fully fit Isak will certainly help him as his movement is top drawer.

Yea he seems to keep dropping back during the buildup, receiving the ball from Konate/VVD alot of the time. Don't know if that's a tactical decision by Slot or just part of his game. I agree he was at his best when he was right in the number 10 position feeding Isak.

Started slow but grew into the game well. Was just getting into his stride when he was subbed in around 60min.

No coincidence that wirtz played better with a better structured team. Dom is a good right back but he is a Mf. With a proper RB playing the balance of the team was better,  MF could play slightly further forward, Wirtz closer to the attack.

Good win and live seeing a Simeone head melt!

That Liverpool line up last night was pretty frightening. Once Isak and Wirtz get up to speed I can't see any one living with them in the league or in Europe. Nothing lucky about scoring late either. They are relentless and teams level with them heading into the last 10 minutes will be on edge. Only thing that will stop them is an injury to VVD imo.

Injury and form of VVD and Salah will make or break, Ramadan dates more favourable to CL progress this year

Also African Nations Cup is an issue. Dec-mid January,  no salah for a crucial period.

Took along time.  Left back area is a concern as they attacked that area relentlessly when they saw Robinson wasn't at the races.  I thought he used to be quicker?
