Still have a Prem winning CB pairing but just need to pray there are no injuries. Leoni will get a good bit of playing time now you would've thought

Spent £500m but it's disappointing

Are we just making numbers up now? Why not £1bn
Maldini hasn't covered rounding in the key stage 3 syllabus yet.

Do all Liverpool fans suffer from this odd illness whereby they're unwilling to acknowledge the magnitude of their spending?

The 3 biggest purchases of the summer are all at Anfield.

Whether you like to hear it or not, they're buying the title, just like City before them.

Let me get this straight, you're annoyed at fans NOT getting annoyed about their teams spending on players? Right

Why anyone would give a fiddlers about the money spent in pro soccer is beyond me, especially the English Premier League.

The Wobbler needs to get over that Sissoko handball already

Your last paragraph is on the money. If the club have the cash they should spend it. That's what it's there for. Fans should enjoy this. But please don't try to pretend that they've not forked out the best part of half a billion this summer in an outlandish spending spree, or that somehow it's been done in a virtuous (there's that word from me again) way. It's among the most extraordinary spends in the history of the game.

I'll never get over that penalty. f**k it still hurts.

Why did they not just pay the Isak fee back in July. Offered 110m and left it to deadline day . Isak played no pre season with Newcastle. Well run would be to have in place before the season started.

Why pay 150million instead of waiting and getting him for 130million.
I hope you don't run your companies finances.

But who actually cares? £6 billion, £100 million, should mean nothing to fans (especially with clubs that seem to be very well run)

£446m then to be precise, would have been closer to 500 had Guehi not collapsed

A record for the amount spent in a single transfer window surpassing Chelsea's previous record of £434m two years ago.

brokencrossbar1

Over 2 summers the squad has been rebuilt on a net spend of £137m. Yes a lot of money was laid out but an awful lot was brought back in,  nevermind the money generated from sponsorship and prize money. I think what is killing fans of opposition teams is that their own clubs are not able to compete because they are run inadequately. LFC has their house well in order and will continue to do so. Guehi come in and be groomed as VVDs successor over 1-2 seasons. He will either be a low ball on January or free next season. Might see a new MF next summer but nothing major. Following season will be Mo's replacement. That's the work that will be happening

They've the most expensive goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and striker in PL history in their team now

The ones crying about the big spend this window are also the ones who completely ignore the spend over the last few years that puts them in 5th for overall spend in the last 5 years. Below a few clubs that have not had the success that Liverpool have had in that time. And that's before we look at the money brought in from the PL, CL etc as well.
The reality is that Liverpool have been an extremely well run club for the last decade or so. But its swings and roundabouts. We were in the doldrums for long enough so as far as I'm concerned we're well placed to enjoy the better times at the minute. It could be short lived. It's the fact that Liverpool have been well run that has delivered the success. It was a slow process to get to where they are now. But when you look at the money in and money out, I'd say most clubs would look on enviously at the business Liverpool have done. Which is why they try and solely focus on the money out this summer in isolation.
