2-0 in the return leg will do it. They managed 4-0 against Barcelona a couple of years ago.

Ref gave nothing to either side tonight in fairness, he let an awful lot go which to be honest was far better than English refs blowing for everything. I thought Madrid could have had a penalty also.

With a top class defense, the likes of Mane on form, and a packed Anfield.

This tie is over. I can see Real winning 3-1 or 4-2 at Anfield. The defensive issues really become clear at this level.

Real Madrid have their own defensive issues with Ramos out injured and Varane testing positive for covid. Real Madrid could well rue not winning by more tonight while Liverpool are well capable of winning the 2nd leg in Anfield 2-0.

As Anfield has been such a hard place to win at lately

Thought Liverpool were awful last night, especially defensively, but they were absolutely rode by the ref at times. Still don't see how the Vasquez one isn't a foul and red card. If that's not what VAR can be used for then what is? So blatantly obvious and cynical.

The tie's over. That defence needs protection from midfield and the supply lines cut out and there was none of that last night.  Giving Madrid time on the ball to pick out passes was always going to leave us badly exposed at the back.  I can't remember one single tackle in the middle of the pitch. To make a tackle you have to get near your opponent.  Trent is a major weak link in the defence at the moment, with Gomez out.  Teams are constantly targeting Liverpool down that side, rather than Robertson.  I don't think Trent has got any worse defensively, it's just now he doesn't have Gomez to get him out of jail.  Trent is a brilliant passer of the ball and has one of the best deliveries around, but he's not an instinctive defender. It's not really surprising that Southgate didn't pick him - maybe he just wants his right back to be able to defend first and foremost.
That's just, like your opinion man.

I can see a case for Liverpool going out and signing a RB in the summer with a view to moving TAA into midfield when Henderson reduces his playing time. He obviously has the passing and shooting ability but he is comfortable coming infield as well. Could be an interesting move for all parties.

As for yesterday it was poor form Liverpool's perspective. Mane played as badly as I have ever seen him although the entire teams passing was pretty poor. I actually think Firmino would have been a better option than Jota given the lack of space around the box. Tie is not over but it is hard to see Liverpool keeping a clean sheet so scoring 3 at a minimum is a big ask.
