@Now__Football: Apparently, some Man United fans were chanting "Always the victim, it's never your fault" (relating to Hillsborough) -  Absolutely terrible

It is, also predictable, the hatred runs too deep between some supporters of theses teams, Liverpool fans are just as bad, they would want to grow up and buy some perspective.

I cant believe people are panicking already about "Liverpool's situation", they will be fine, give the manager time to settle in and get his hands around managing the club.

1-0 Sunderland

Same old story. Been the better team and Sunderland score with their first real attack after 30 mins.

laoislad

Playing well but usual shite giving away a sloppy goal.
Suarez should have had a peno as well.
Nordie Tayto is shite

GalwayBayBoy

Hit the post twice so far. Reckon we have time yet to make it three times.

That wasn't a bad performance. Johnson did well and sterling looks like he's getting better every time he plays. You can see the pass and move slowly seeping back into the way they play. Poacher - old school, Aldridge, rush, fowler mode could be a 30 a season guy. Yes Fernando, that could have been you...
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity

Tony Baloney

Scored 3 and conceded 8 in 4 matches. Doesn't inspire much confidence. Defence is seriously ropey.

This sounds familiar....

Johnson is seriously watery defensively, it's a concern as he gives away goals. What was he at for that Sunderland goal? He is superb going forward though.

That was a decent enough performance away from home, typical that they scored with their one real chance.

Allen sloppier than usual, Gerrard a bit more prominent than usual.

Sterling probably our best player, again.

ALEX FERGUSON is calling on Liverpool and Manchester fans to end all hate-filled chanting.
Sick choruses about Hillsborough and the Munich air disaster have often marred clashes between the two clubs, who meet again at Anfield next Sunday.

Now, in a week when the findings of the Hillsborough inquiry panel were made public, Ferguson has appealed for peace between the rival supporters.

The United boss said: "Both clubs have suffered tremendous fatalities through football and you would hope that this is the line in the sand in terms of how supporters behave towards one another.

"Certainly, the reputation of both clubs doesn't deserve that. You hope fans do behave themselves, support their team and that would be the end of it. We will see.

"I think what will happen for that Liverpool game is fans will be on their best behaviour.

"I think it's a moment for these two great clubs to show why they're two great clubs. I don't anticipate any problems.

"There are always opportunities to show your greatness and I think this is another one."

Ferguson cast his mind back yesterday to the dark days of the 80s.

He said: "The thing that sticks out in my mind at that time was those fences around stadiums.

"They were put up to avoid fans going on to the pitch but it turned out they cost people their lives. I think that they contributed to what happened at Hillsborough."

Lets hope he is right and next weekend goes well..

Indeed.

However, football fans often being brainless idiots when in a mob situation, there's no guarantees, from either side. Hopefully the majority will have the sense to make their feelings known when and if the chants start.

Correct. I hope LFC are as swift to denounce any Liverpool supporters who behave like apes when playing Man Utd.

Sterling is the real deal altogether and he was the best player on the park.

I will never know how they let Carroll head off until at least January before they bought cover for him...........and if they are that thin should they not have kept him AND signed someone else or signed two strikers and then dumped him?

Liverpool are good enough to beat United but I think they will struggle because if they are not taking their chances when dominating possession, how are they going to score on less than half of the opportunities they are getting now?

United scored four at the right time, they will be confident going in to play the pool and I think United will win this one 3-1.

Liverpool always raise their game when playing the better sides for example if it wasn't for defensive errors pool would have beaten City & worth noting United have a poor recent record in Anfield only one win in 6 attempts.

I'm going to sit on the fence & predict a score draw.
The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open
