As the rules allowed... so? They also kicked it to the net. As I say, moved forward at pace not endlessly handpassing and kicking sideways and backwards...

Quote from: Armagh18 on January 17, 2025, 11:21:38 PMFair play to Kielty. Jarlath looks the fool now getting involved in the incident with no conviction and letting it slide with the boy who was convicted, 0 consistency.

He made the distinction between a player and a coach. You might not agree with him but there is a distinction.
Yeah look he has his views and is sticking to them in fairness.

Theres also a distinction between a man who was investigated and cleared and one who was convicted. You either trust the process or you don't. Will be interesting to see how he lands on the Armagh case if the lad is cleared.

Jarlath I don't think handled it well and felt like he was waffling without really saying anything. He'll do well in politics.
Yeah absolutely. And there was definitely a reason that was pre recorded as well.

marty34

Was Jarlath asked about the 'Armagh' situation last night?

Yeah. Just said he and the Armagh cb were involved in the background, that he has his own opinions but obviously can't comment yet.

But can comment on other stuff.

Not wanting to rock the boat on is own county.

Jarlath speaking out of both sides of his mouth. He may go through the local papers and see who's done what if he's to continue on in this vein and issue statements on a daily basis.

But he didn't issue a statement on Gallagher. He sent a private email to Naas that someone else released. How do we know he didn't send other emails and those clubs/ persons respected the privacy of the email.

As for the Armagh incident. What else can he say? It is under police investigation. I would suspect it would be illegal for him to say anymore than he has. I would assume he has taken advice on this.

WT4E

Interesting he made it clear they would comment when legal proceedings are over.

Does this mean then that if the player in question gets a not guilty or no prosecution Jarleth will write to his club and county board to make it clear he is not to play as even though he wasn't convicted of anything he's thinks he is guilty.

De facto jarleth is on TV defending his position that he is presuming RG guilty. It's a very dangerous position for the president of any organisation never mind and amateur one.

I think what he said on the Armagh incident was fair enough considering where it is in the process but the other stuff around Gallagher and Hayes was pure rubbish. He's a great fella for a pre-prepared speech but it was pure drivel about Hayes when put on the back foot.

It's not just about Hayes though, and to be fair Hayes has a higher profile than RG in my book, its the countless others that have escaped Jarlaths morality compass, hopefully when he clears the gutter with his tenure we will be in a better place..
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

The Armagh thing is subject to a police investigation. Until that's done I don't think he can or should comment publicly, I'm critical of Jarlath on a lot of things but his hands are tied on that one.

One thing you can't criticise him for is he'll speak his mind and do what he feels is right.

Norm-Peterson

It was funny to watch Burns try to wriggle out of that question about Hayes. Saying that it is different because a coach is a role model to young people. So an All Ireland winning hurler isn't a role model to young people? Are the players more likely to abuse their wives because their football coach may have done so?

quit yo jibbajabba

He also seemed to say it was because it had been dealt with and/or he's under the stewardship of limerick county board that it was ok....

Not buying that personally
