I've already bought two from Amazon with the 3.5mm phone jack and they didn't work and don't want to be going to try and buy all the time.

Can anyone recommend a set that works with the Xbox X/S remote and not more than £30?

You sure they don't work with the jack? Cabling a mess but the Xbox controllers have a 3.5mm jack, even the Elite ones.

They'll not win any awards from audiophiles, but the likes of these should suffice:

It's in your interest as if they've the audio through a headset you can mute the TV.

Our ones have had Turtle Beach headsets over the years and they've been grand.

Laptop, about 10 years old . Windows 7.  In great condition.

Mainly used for  zoom meetings, watching  the GAA streams, DVDs etc.

It's  saying I need to update from 7  to windows 10. Some things not  working,  couldn't watch  the GAA streams lately  for example. Email  accounts  not secure too, apparently.

Not a clue how to get windows 10.

Do I download  it? Buy a Windows 10 disc?

Help appreciated

Windows 10 is now out of support, you would be best going to windows 11 but I suspect if your laptop is 10 years old it won't have the spec for windows 11.

Is there any way of finding  that out?

And if  can take  Windows 11 , do I download it or  buy it in disk form, or what?

So you can't go direct to 11 you need to go 10 first then 11. There are loads of Microsoft docs and tutorials to tell you how to do this but even if you achieve this your laptop maybe slow and sluggish simply given it's age.

There are tools. One plan would be to back everything up and do a clean install of Win11, this is more work but things will work as well as they can. Maybe add more RAM if the machine has a vacant slot.

This Rufus software will do it in one go

Spec wise I wouldn't go below i5/i7 512Gb SSD, 16Gb RAM for a general machine. If you need gaming power you'll probably need something beefier.

Agreed, try Back Market, Stone Refurb etc.. I haven't bought a new laptop in years, always go with the refurbished

Anyone recommend a tablet for someone in their 60s. Not overly great with technology, just a bit of Facebook and browsing
Android the best?

Any OLED men? Is it worth it?
Currently sitting on the fence, and it's a big price jump.

It depends on how into your TV you are. I have bog-standard LED TVs and an OLED in the "good room". You can see the picture is sharper, and it pops out more. Was it worth it? I honestly don't know, as I'm not big enough into TV, movies and tech to really fully appreciate it, but I don't lose sleep over having spent a few extra quid on it. That probably doesn't make you any the wiser - it's just my experience.
