This thread is setup to see your opinions on the occupation.

As the Princess Anne thread grows and grows I want to know if it is a bigger issue than the occupation itself. Are we at a stage where we accept the occupation as "that's how it is" while getting all worked up about a Royal visit to Croke Park? Are we at a stage where we want the occupation to remain yet we reserve the right to complain about what goes with it?

Is a protest against the visit to Croke Park a bigger priority than a protest against the occupation?

I don't care if Anne comes to Croker but I've an issue with her country's occupation of Ireland.
Which one of you bitches wants to dance?

The Good Friday Agreement of 1998 subsequently accepted by the Irish peopleby referendum agreed that the 6 N E Counties would remain under overall Brit jurisdiction till a majority within those 6 Counties decided otherwise.
So lads instead of "occupation" talk get out there and convince 10% of ye're misguided neighbours to support a change of status. ;)

Is it just me or is anyone else sick of people constantly tying politics and sports? The GAA in Chicago invited the Northern ireland Football Team to use their facilities and then all hell breaks out because some people felt that the invite should never have been extended, fair enough point owever once they were invited they should have been treated with respect as guests and instead they faced acrimony and bitterness and protests from the GAA's so called supporters. This is just one example but on the world stage there are many, many more examples.

Politics and sports have always been linked but we are taking it to extreme's nowadays, in the States, congress is holding congresional meetings on whether athletes used HGH (human growth hormone) or steroids to make themselves stronger, faster etc, this is all fine except the athletes didnt ever break the law of the land or even the game they played because there was no banned substances initally because the union wouldnt allow their athletes to be tested, in effect these athletes are being humiliated by politicians for political gain so these politicians can showboat yet there is nothing they can accomplish unless the athlete lies under oath a la Barry Bonds.

As for princess Anne sittin in the stands in croker cheering on the scots, we opened the door for such happenings and we are happy to take the queens shilling so how then can we moan and complain when the queens princess shows up to support another british team playing against us, if i was a brit I would cheer against Ireland as well.
