That is some stat, Laois have only reached 2 Leinster minor hurling finals since 1992 and the latest to do so an not one has made the senior panel. How are these players falling through the cracks

Great win.

Delighted for Tommy Fitz who would have been hurting after last week.

Brave decisions with the changes and all paid-off. Picky was brilliant and led the forward line. Big impact from the bench too, James Keyes in particular.

A long road to travel but a shot at Carlow in a Joe Mc Final is still on the cards.

Yes a good performance today and a deserved result . Martin Phelan massive work rate and fully justified his selection after a tough day last week. Showed good resolve doing that . Fiachra C and David Dooley pretty good as well.

Reilly's distribution was very good alright and his coming off the line supporting full backs also good. Maybe a bit less sure under couple of high balls if nitpicking.

A couple of lads off form slightly and I think we can possibly strengthen up a bit in middle third still .

Mark Dowling was the sharpest I've seen him in a long time and that was a real bonus . The other subs mostly made a good impact, which is encouraging.

Great chance now to get back to Croke Park so well done to all .

Antrim looked better in a fairly lacklustre the first half, but several lads really upped their games - David Dooley, for example - and a greater all round urgency was good to see after the awful showing last day. Should make it to the return match against Carlow now.

Didn't make the game today, but that was a much needed shot in the arm. Fair play to the lads on a good response to last week's drubbing, that takes character to come back from.
Westmeath in Mullingar on May 9th is another huge task. While we had nine points to spare in Mullingar on March 1st, that's a distant memory now. Westmeath will view this game as one they can win to get their campaign back on track.
A two week lay-off to fine tune the team is very welcome as we approach the second half of this campaign. It's needed.
Hopefully management will seriously pour over the last two games to identify where changes are needed going forward.
I think we should be able to secure wins in our final two games, but Westmeath will be a dogfight.

Was listening to the hurling Gaa pod yesterday they say 3 teams go through in the Joe mcdonagh top to final and a semi final taught it was just a final.???

There would have been no panic about beating Antrim if there were semi-finals.

Semi final I was saying and top straight into final. Well if Antrim had to beat us Down carlow and Antrim would be ahead of us so there would be a panic.

Thought there'd be a few bits of discussion ahead of the Westmeath game today, anyways - the lads done fair well and racked up a fairly big score.
Carlow a bit lucky to get out of jail V Down, so we need to focus on that next. Thankfully we've them at home next weekend. Won't be simple to win, but home advantage should stand to us.
We've probably got over the hump after the loss V Carlow and focus on not only winning the next two games, but building a proper game plan for Carlow in the final. It's ours now for the making, and I'd be worried about the goals we're shipping. Time still though to work on that.

Wasn't at the game but was following on Midlands 103 and saw (sparse) highlights on Saturday Game.

A heartening display and hopefully a repeat against Down - they showed against Carlow that they are a serious team.
I looked up Laois V Down NHL result forgetting that Down were in a higher division this year.

PS
Fair play to Kildare - they have certainly acquitted themselves very well both in NHL and Leinster SHC.

Well done to players and mangagement for two good performances on the spin. The group has definitely learned from the poor performance in Carlow. Change of keeper, players playing in their positions and a tweak on the 4 man half forward line has helped in my view. The Management Team deserve credit for figuring it out but more importantly implementing the changes prior to Antrim match. More space upfront to operate in is suiting us as is the deeper midfielder giving us more cover.
There will be a good buzz in training this week which should translate to competition for places ahead of the Down match. Don't want to get ahead of myself but another crack off Carlow is looking likely at this stage.
