If a child has been playing for several years for one club and then wants to move (due soley to his mates playing in the neighbouring club) is a transfer request necessary, or does this only apply if you are playing senior football?

He needs a transfer after U12 - before then as he has not played 'competition', no transfer is necessary.

Heffo, in Armagh, competition starts at U14,so therefore I assume a transfer is required after that age. This subject is a thorny one as no one in the upper levels of authority, will give a definitive answer on this one.

Official guide as of Congress 2010 defines it as U12 - transfer needed after this point for the whole country.

Heffo is right. Even if U-12 is "non-competitive" if a player participates (legally) with a club then that's their home club and hey'd need a transfer to go elsewhere. There were changes to the rules regarding transfers etc at this years convention but they don't come into effect until Jan 1 2013 and I think this stayed the same in any event (home club now to be called "first club" if memory serves).

How do you ascertain if someone has played U12s, as Clubs, in Tyrone anyhow, don't use teamsheets.

I would imagine a letter from the Secretary would suffice.
