Usually go to the home place for dinner & have melon & then home-made soup for starters with a warm crusty roll
Main course is usually Turkey, Ham, Mashed Potatoes, Roast Potatoes, Sprouts, Carrots, Parsnips, Stuffing, Croquettes (sp) & the good 'oul Cocktail Sausages (a must have)
Dont eat dessert, so I have usually left the table to lie on the couch like a beached whale at that stage

Dinner normally isnt served till 4 or 5 & I f**king hate it, would prefer it at lunchtime when it is f**king supposed to be served.

Am considering getting a goose this year. Anyone any idea what it is like?

Christmas Dinner in the Ego household is usually around 2pm. Be well and ready for it by then.

Cant beat the croquettes with a big stick
Not really a mashed spud man, so the croquettes & roast spuds are vital

We usually have roast red pepper and tomato soup to start - a pain in the arse to make, but magic (usually make it the night before, while waiting for the kids to fall asleep).  Jaysus, I'm beginning to feel Christmassy at last.

Ahhhh Christmas I love it.

Start with a prawn cocktail
Next mushrooms stuffed with pate and a cheese sauce roasted.
Beef consomme with croutons and guyere cheese
Take a rest before dinner.
Turkey, honey roast ham, stodgy stuffing, really rich gravy made from juices of the bird, roasters done in goose fat, cocktail sausages, creamy mash, peas done with mint, sprouts done with cream and ham, parsnip batons honey roasted.
Don't like desserts.
Cheese board.
Copious amounts of alcohol throughout the day.
Do not leave the house at all, spend all day with the lovely wife.
Tbc....
