i've said this before, the only new stadium that should be built would be one with a roof that holds around 30k. dublin or athlone would be good locations

Westmeath Co. Board are proposing to build a new 28,000 all seater out near the Mullingar bypass, don't know if it's gonna be roofed or not (and neither do they I'd say)...

At least at 28k in a very central location this makes sense. Plus am I right in saying that Westmeath Co Board are getting very good money for the current pitch?? This is the kind of redevelopment that makes sense, not this monstrosity at the bottom of munster!

Yes, site of Cusack Park (if purchase and development goes ahead) is destined for apartments, it's right in the center of town and will attract a premium price. I'll be sad to see it go and hopefully the match day atmosphere and crowds won't be affected...
Westmeath - Home of the Christy Ring Cup...

Dunnes will miss the free advertising and promotion they got every time there was a game shown on the telly also

Sure what do you need a roof for? sure GAA is a summer game - i just wish somebody will tell the GAA that the games are played in Ireland!

I suspect you're a Dub with a response like that!  In fact, Gaelic games are played all year around - except perhaps for December.

Yes but the championship is played during the summer when any of these big stadiums get used. I was also being sarcastic but i wouldnt expect you to get that as you boys take like all so serious.
Grand Slam Saturday!

any unplanned development will end in disaster, the GAA need to look at what they have, identify the opportunites and the realistic solutions to the current problems a 60,000 seater will only make sense if they sell up and close down some other stadium(stadia). They should create a framework from which they can manage and react appropriately to any growth in attendence first. I'd rather see them fill the stadiums they all already have on a regular basis first before they move on. Improve the infracstructure and facilties first and when the stadiums are bursting at the seams then increase capacity.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

exactly, as i've said before, improve what's there already - don't make it bigger. For all the millions poured into some grounds, the male toilets involve pissing up against a wall and watching it run along half a pipe cemented into the floor. Classy.
