The Insider

Well done to Killoe on reaching the last 4 again. They made life difficult for themselves at times with the backs falling asleep for the goals. A big improvement needed as they face Portlaoise in the semi final . Also well done to St Brigids on their win albeit a bit lucky . Am told the Louth team had a last minute goal disallowed after which there was a melee in which the ref allegedly was struck.

Seeing a Carlow Club beating a Dublin one is the lovely thing about  Club Championships.
Carlow clubs have a great record against Dublin clubs in Leinster competitions.
Eire Og beat Kilmacud Crokes, Erins Isle and St Sylvesters in Leinster Finals. O Hanrahans beat Na Fianna in a Leinster Final. a 100% record in 4 Leinster Club Finals. Now Grange beat Lusk. Not a bad record.

was that before or after the war. The best senior club team in Carlow wouldn't keep it kicked out aganst the top 6 clubs in dublin

That's being a bit hard on Carlow club football. When O'Hanrahans beat Na Fianna in the 2000 Leinster final, the Na Fianna team included Dessie Farrell, Jason Sherlock, Senan Connell, Mick Galvin and Kieran McGeeney. There weren't too many household names on the O'Hanrahans team but they won nevertheless.

The record stands. End of story.

The only thing worse that a bad loser is a bad winner.

Hopefully Killoe will get over Portlaoise and get to the final.

Longford club has never been in the provincial final. Fell at the semi final hurdle a number of times in more recent times.

Would love to see a Killoe v Lomans final!

Never realised that, even Westmeath clubs had a couple of outings in the bad old days. No reason why Killoe can't, plenty of experience in them now although you'd fancy them more if they were at home. Killoe Lomans final would shorten the winter alright.

Looking back there and for 11 years Dublin and Carlow clubs divvied out the Leinster club title between them, with Carlow winning the majority of them. Some record alright.

If Lomans get to the Leinster final, Gerry Grehan will be an interesting story. He's a Ferbane man, moved to Mullingar and joined Lomans just last year I think. His father, Johnny, won a Leinster Club in 1986 with Ferbane, so it would be an unusual double if Gerry could do it too.

He's the man behind Cúltec as well, the artificial hurls.

A Killoe v Lomans would be interesting indeed. As Declan Rowley trained Lomans to win the Westmeath title in 2014 and this year trains his home club Killoe.
