I heard the radio documentary

concerning the playing of the Wolfe Tone cup, then an  important competition in Frongoch. Kerry were led by the famous Dick Fitzgerald and they played that GAA hothouse, Louth, in the prison camp.

Apparently football dominated in the camp as the Brits didn't wish to have all of the inmates equipped with hurls.

Yep - was at a great talk yesterday in the Gresham as part of the weekend activities and this was discussed  - fascinating history particularly around the number of GAA members who were actively involved in the Easter Rising compared to the full membership and how the mood changed between April 1916 and later that year
