Can anybody recommend a good app for tracking player attendance, training & matches in particular?

Jinxy

There's a few good apps available alright.
One even sends them an automated text message every Tuesday & Thursday night f*cking them out of it for having no commitment.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

Does it have an option to exclude The Star Player Who'll Never Be Dropped Even Though Everyone Else Has To Attend Training Come Hell Or High Water from the group text?

WTF. Notebook and pencil surely.

Good one Grandpa.
No wonder modern football is leaving Tyrone behind.

Bingo

To counter this, I'm developing an "excuses" app that the players can use to send a message to the "attendence" app to explain their absence.

From research the most popular excuses are:

Cow is calving
Wedding
Can only find one boot
Manager is a bollix
Cutting silage
Can't get babysitter
Man Flu
College stuff to finish

Jinxy

On a few occasions I reckon I used all of them as part of the same giant excuse.

The most used one imo is " I never got the text" closely followed by "didn't have any credit to ring/text you".
Or of course the tried and tested switch the phone off and simply not turn up for the game.

"I've no coverage, I live underground."
If you were any use you'd be playing.

Yeah,
You are also excluded if you're buddies with management

The aul text plan is working a charm. I got one today asking if I was attending "the game" at 7. Would hsve been more useful if I'd actually played for anyone in the last 5 years.
