U2 played there in 1987 as part of their Joshua Tree Tour. The concerts took place on June 27th and 28th

2022 was the first year of July All Ireland finals and I believe they had 7 concerts in Croke Park that year and had 6 last year.

The difference is previously concerts were fit in around the championship. Now the championship has been fit in to accommodate concerts.

I don't think the season was changed to suit concerts. Even if it was, who cares? Money for the GAA, certainty around fixtures for the people that matter most i.e. club players. It's a win win.
