WTF was the guy doing who got hit....he just stood there like a gilrs blouse and took it!

Maybe he is surprised that he is being assaulted by a premiership football player.
Maybe he knows if he fights back the rest will launch in worse.

Who knows, but its a bit sad to question the victim of an assault like this.

Still think the guy should have planted one on him (self defence). Afterall if someones gonna knock you're pan in you might as well go down fighting

Barton is undoubtedly a nasty piece of work and really should have no future in professional soccer.

Aye that's what I was thinking too.  He didn't seem to have much chance to fight back but why did he go walking back over to them after being pushed away? 
I wonder who was the boy that appeared to be with man attacked that stood with his hands in his pockets when it was happening.

he will never learn sort of though he got a bad press after the incident with the youth team player at xmas dinner, but he the type of boy that never shows remorse.he never even apologized to dabo.  complete scum you would wonder how professionals could  play with him!

Its not Joeys fault. Its a result of his upbringing, environment etc 

I'd suggest that he wasn't shown any great love of affection at home during his formative years and the only way he had of getting attention was to lash out.
What the lad needs is a big hug and if that doesn't work, a boot in the hole.

the man can't be helped!! barton is a top footballer on top wages and still finds problems in life!! after he snubbed the ciggerette in the youth players face he was on football focus saying his life couldnt get any lower than that yet he has been involved in assault with an everton fan, beating up a man city teammate (dabo) and that attack on the guy in the street not to mention him flashing his ass in a league game!! the man's got issues that just can not be dealt with!!

Newcastle United have suspended midfielder Joey Barton until further notice.

The 26-year-old was sent off for the fourth time in his career in the Magpies' 3-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

Manager Alan Shearer entrusted the former Manchester City man to cope with the pressure on Merseyside, but was left fuming after Barton was dismissed for a reckless challenge on Xabi Alonso.

Newcastle have not divulged the reasons behind Barton's suspension, although it is believed to stem from an alleged bust-up between Shearer and the midfielder in the aftermath of the defeat.

This latest move by Newcastle could well end Barton's career on Tyneside after he was backed by the club following his release from prison last summer.

"Newcastle United can confirm that Joey Barton has been suspended from the club until further notice," read a statement on the club's official website.

"The club will be making no further comment on the matter at this time."

This is the club that welcomed him out of prison and back into his old job. I had been hoping Middlesbrough & Hull would go down and the Magpies would survive, but I forgot about Barton and for that matter didn't they give Lee Bowyer a wage for a while?
