Desperate Westmeath crowd at this one. Possibly about 10. Either that or they all sat on their hands...
Good gutsy first half performance, not pretty, but effective. Duffy was having a great game in midfield and Gavin was doing well on Donaghy until he had to go off.
Duffy being sent off first thing in the second half decided the game as a contest, we didn't compete in midfield at all after that. I couldn't complain about Duffy's yellow, he clearly pulled his man down but it's infuriating that referees won't apply this consistently.  John Smith I think it was that was cynically pulled down in the first half on the terrace side of the pitch, his man got a black card. Can't recall who it was. Give them all or don't give any of them, I'd love to take Deegan to task on that one.
It had some effect on the game. The ball into the forwards in the first half was poor alot of the time, similar to the Mayo game, but there was no ball at all going into the Westmeath forwards the second half. I can only recall three attacks in the second half that we passed midfield. I'd love to see the possession stats, at least 70% Kerry in the second half I'd imagine.
Still some positive signs (forever the optimist).
Duffy had a great first half in terms of securing possession. Dermott Bannon was showing well for and winning ball, still looks unsure as to what to do with it though alot of the time! Glennon was on form again, unlucky with his penalty. None of the backs were found wanting, Boyle showing great energy again, Gavin/Keane solid. Not a bad game amongst them. Good to see Clinton back, obviously not fit, but should add something. Next two games are critical in terms of building some confidence, need to win at least one of them, two wins should see us in good mental condition for the championship.

What is Eoin Brosnans situation?

Haven't heard anything of him, you would think he'd be making an appearance by this stage, unless of course he is injured. Anyone know?
