How did Oxford get on?

gallsman

Having had plenty of contact with the Boat Club while in Trinity, the sport of College rowing and everything that goes with sickens my hole. Possibly the most elitist sport around, even more so than Leinster School's rugby.

Doesn't take anything away from how tremendous these athletes are though. Phenomenal strength, endurance and determination required.

I use to row a bit, terribly boring and one of those things anyone could do if you're willing to put in the time.
Which one of you bitches wants to dance?

Minder

I row with the wife all the time.

Square Ball

Hospitals are not equipped to treat stupid

Capt Pat

It is like rugby in Ireland, nobody is really interested, but sure they throw it on the telly a lot so you watch it and cheer for one of the sides and pretend you know what you are talking about. "Hopefully we will win the toss and choose the Surrey bend".

Dont know about trinity but I had a friend who was mad into the rowing in Queens, and she represented Ireland after uni. She was far from "elite" in the sense you are talking about here - and most of the ones who rowed with her in college and after where dead on as well.

It was probably gallsman, would you be keen to be friendly with someone who openly describes themselves as "cocky"?
I wouldn't.

Most people would describe you as something similar.
