Quote from: Mikhailov on June 21, 2025, 12:01:00 PMDevenney is a woeful referee. One of the worst

Heard last night was laughable but obviously not if you were a Plunkett man - moving frees forward endlessly plus 2 sendings off

I seen him ref a game last year and it was all one way traffic on the pitch, one team cruising to victory and he still made it chaotic. Caused frustration everywhere despite the fact the game was going through the motions to the final whistle.
Yes Devenney is the worst referee in the county. Once he takes a dislike to a team he will do everything in his power to make life hard on them.

Which club does devenney belong to ?

With so many experts about strange how there is such a shortage of referees in Tyrone

https://www.irishnews.com/gaa/gaelic-football/an-ageing-average-age-and-an-increased-number-of-matches-spells-danger-for-tyrone-referees-and-gaelic-games-in-the-county-NUH3KSD4BZAWTOPIBDN5T7BE7I/

I am sure the County Board would be more than happy to give yous a whistle and let you walk the walk....

If there's a shortage why are Tyrone refs reffing in Armagh?

GAAtrojan

Fintona trounce Beragh, fintona best team all over the field. With Beragh 5 star management team would rather shout at referees for cards than look at there own back yard!

On the other hand Archie Greene had fintona prepared to a tee and were good value for there 2 points.

I'm hearing at today's game greencastle putting in a complaint on the referees final score in there game v Beragh which resulted in a 1 point win for Beragh but greencastle have video evidence of the game which they say was a draw !!

Cookstown streets ahead of anyone in Division 3. Have to be serious contenders for Ulster and All Ireland Junior honours?

Clogher spent 7 or 8 years in intermediate football but are streets behind cookstown who struggle to stay more than 1 year in it?

Cookstown would be favourites to win the championship due to their championship pedigree. But I'd put them slightly behind free scoring clogher when it comes to the league.

Cookstown in the driving seat now. Nobody in division 3 will touch them

Clogher would have to beat Cookstown by 4+ in the return game plus win every other game. Big Ask.

Good chance Cookstown will do the double and Clogher go automatically in second place

Only thing stopping Cookstown is complacency - last time they where in Junior heard they had one eye on Ulster before getting out of Tyrone.

Actually meant to come on here a week or so ago to congratulate Beragh on a great start given there bad season last year. Thought they where now promotion contenders but thats a bad derby result last week. What happened?

I have heard/read this sort of comment many times 'shortage of refs' 'why not volunteer to ref yourself' etc... and often think its nonsense. The referees in Tyrone play a vital role in facilitating our games, it isn't an easy job which we all know and we are indebted to them for volunteering as we also are towards our own club players who commit and sacrifice a lot to allow us the opportunity to stand over the wire on a Friday evening but that still does not excuse the referees from being blatantly brutal at times and being held to account. Some of the referee displays I have seen over the years have been horrendous and are all too common now, surely the man in the middle who has a massive impact on the game should be up to standard. A lot of them I see now are power hungry and want to be the star of the show. Some however, are very good at their jobs who talk teams through games, explain their decisions and apply the rules consistently but they are in the minority unfortunately.

From Niall Gartland on twitter "This year in the Tyrone Club Football Championships there will be a fresh draw after each round to determine pairings for the subsequent round. This will apply to all three champinships"
