Know for a fact they weren't. School principal  had put in to EA grounds on the condition of the pitch. They reviewed it. Done a patch up with the long term  replacement recommended. It was on hold due to budget constraints cause Sinn Fein were out 3yrs and the DUP 2yrs. Everything wss running on do minimum to that shit show was sorted out.Lad from the Irish News hasn't a clue. Non'-controlled school threshold been £1million for a long time. Don't remember a fuss when I had met ole Gerry with principal to look at capital works at a west Belfast school. They ended up getting  all theirs pushed through, and the school up the road who wouldn't deal with him got nothing.

Quote from: Wildweasel74 on April 04, 2025, 07:40:40 AMThe DUP had no input on the school pitch in Derry, never had, decision took in EA on the work programme, school had been on the backlog 5yrs.

Was Girvan of the DUP and Lyons of the DUP not heavily involved in that decision?

Of course they were , Funding not applied for and EA signed off after a private meeting between School Principal and  Lyons / Given / Middleton

Why is there no judical review about that?

SF are too soft.

Those in glass houses will never throw stones.

That may well be the case, but it isn't stopping the DUP throwing plenty of stones when it comes to Irish culture.

Michelle is so concerned about being the "first minister for all" that she's prepared to let the DUP run rings round them.

As bigots go this DUP waster Clement Cuthbertson from Dungannon is right up there... suggested a childrens competition was to honour a 'terrorist' not bothering to check it wasn't Francie Hughes the hungerstriker but a former deceased club chairman of Coalisland Fianna. He never apologised to Mr Hughes' family or the GAA club.
A piece of work if ever there was one but popular among a class of sectarian bigots.

Some achievement as there would be a lot of competition for such a title within that organisatioin.

Shamrock Shore

No point in being DUP Councillor without being a c**t about it.

Hoor never apologised.

Ingrained in the 17th Century cnuts.
Will be getting worse as they try to get the Neanderthal vote back from TUVUDA.
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

It looks like NI Sports minister Gordon Lyons is set for the Armagh Derry match in the Athletic Grounds on Saturday night.  He has effectively been shamed into this. If he really had any interest in attending a GAA match it would have happened before now.  If he insists on not taking his seat until after the National Anthem should he just be told to f**k off back home??

Has he attended the Irish Rugby games in the past? Would he take his seat after the anthems for those games?
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

They'd say we respect the anthem of the State  we're in.

Conveniently the un-televised game?

Why do they do this nonsense? Send Michelle O'Neill to NI soccer matches and DUP to GAA matches. Pointless exercise.

He is the sports minister... can't be minister for our sports but not their sports...

And at that, nobody has to give him any dues, but don't be doing out of your way to get offended because the game isn't on TV FFS.

I'm saying why he should attend if he goes to other codes. Personally I don't give a fuc which minister goes to which sport. Is more important equal funding and treatment of sports than the optics... TV? 🤷
