He was exactly who I had in mind, especially given the fact he battered two girls and didn't have his licence revoked. I always believed anybody out on licence should be returned for full sentence if they broke any law again.

Ahh now you are in my wheel house. It depends on the time of licence. A determinate licence overwhelmingly given to less violent offenders can be revoked for the commission of further offences. Life licences need there to be an unmanageable increase in risk of serious harm (sometimes referred to as life and limb).

Counter intuitive and simplified but that's the law.
