All Saints win Antrim Intermediate Championship

Antrim Town win the Antrim Junior championship

Drumgath win Down Intermediate Championship

Knockbride win the Junior title in Cavan

Cue the usual crying about a division 1 team playing junior etc, etc.

Fair play to Knockbride, they'll fancy their chances in Ulster. I don't think they're as good as Arva were last year but will definitely be one of the favourites.

A lot of new houses being built around there in recent years, is the GAA club beginning to get any benefit from this?

Collegeland v An Port Mór in the Armagh JFC final today. Proper junior match between two local rivals only 5 mins apart on the Armagh/Tyrone border. None of this Division 1 team bollox getting a handy title.

Blackwatertown and College land in the same division in Armagh? If I remember right, did Blackwatertown get a good run in Ulster a few years ago?

Both in 3A which is the 5th tier of league football in Armagh. APM won Ulster JFC 12 years ago. They were unfortunate in the AI semi final against eventual champions Ballinasloe.

Yeah i thought i recalled them going on a run in Ulster a few years back. Did they never push on at intermediate given they're back in junior? Big numbers in these rural clubs? I'd know the area well enough but not the ins and outs of the club scene in these particular clubs!!

Not really, there are probably too many (small rural) clubs in Armagh, compared to catchment areas of clubs in neighbouring Monaghan & Tyrone. Collegeland are amalgamated with Annaghmore and Clonmore at underage and APM would field albeit in the lower grades. They never really made a dent at intermediate level and were in 3B last year.

How's that exactly? Real idiotic posts on this forum about Cavan teams.

None of them makes any sense. Pretty sure Knockbride have been junior for like 20 years and never won anything.

Serious chip on the shoulder from Northern posters on here about Cavan. Yet they say nothing about Derry teams winning Intermediate and Junior and remaining in same division.

Mostly just nonsensical slabbering from fools but tiresome none the less.

Many people on here commented on that including general lee....

Was the Derry thing not a County board mess? A reorganisation of league structure?

I actually think the Cavan system is a bit of a joke. 'Junior' teams playing (presumably) senior & intermediate standard clubs in Div 1 are being exposed to a consistently higher standard of football all season long. Great for their development but not for others when it comes to the Ulster series. The linking of leagues & championships works in other counties, it is a simple solution to get a level playing field.

That Derry structure is still in place this year so Glenulin were in Intermediate this year again after winning the previous 2 Intermediate championships and Balymacuigan the Junior champions stayed in Junior also.

So don't know how that structure is fair or your making excuses
