Liverpools to lose  ;D

Casemiro set Liverpool on the road to victory. Too soon to label any team to lose yet however early signs shows it's a smooth transition on replacing Klopp and have recovered from losing the league title that with eight games to play was Liverpool's to lose last season.

Absolute gold

No gold, ended up with a bronze 3rd place finish.

Now do who all the teams still had to play at that stage

Work away, it's surpassed slight levels of annoyance into the realm of enjoyment  ;D

It definitely ain't United's to lose.  ;)

Be lucky to get to 8th this season

Utd will get 5th or 6th at least. Their squad will get them there.

City
Arsenal
Liverpool
Brighton
Newcastle
Villa
Chelsea
Tottenham

All of these teams are probably going to finish ahead of United.

I would not bet on Villa, Newcastle, Brighton or The Spuds.

Piss poor from United again yesterday.
MF has been a complete mess since last year and makes you wonder why the Ugarte deal wasnt done earlier in the window when they were already resolved to selling McT.

Dallot again the only player standing up and still being played out of position to cover the crocked Shaw and Malacia. Not that I am major fan of Rashford, but playing down that left with no one coming on the over lap the way Shaw does, really limits his already limited game.

Heaps massive pressure on to Garnacho and Diallo down the other side and imbalances the team. Mainoo looks like exactly what he is, a young player trying to find his feet in a struggling team.

I think the will improve but I fear they are going to be too far off the pace for top 4 by the time the improvement comes.

Casemiro had a bad half and there's no taking away from that, but for the second goal when he was turned over he'd no options open to him when he got the ball.
Surely if you're insisting on playing out from the back against a team who thrive on the high press then there needs to be a lot of options for the ball carrier.

Keane touched on it after the game, but why would the two fullbacks bomb forward if you play out from the back?

A disjointed team if ever there was one.

This Utd team wouldn't win the Scottish league, Sir Jim and the lads haven't a notion

A laughable decision to employ Jason Wilcox to the brains trust/secret squirrel club

Might as well have been You Tubers Goldbridge or Mitten

Banter club

Man United supporters have to be a bit more realistic ETH isn't Harry Potter ;D.  Press conference yesterday was cringeworthy to say the least.  Van Nistelrooy to take over the reigns in early 2025 on interim basis I would expect the outcome to be.

I only watched the 1st half yesterday but Utd looked so far off the level required. Casemiro had a complete 'mare. But we all know that he is done. We knew this last year.  And yet Utd go into the season with him starting in their 11. Ugarte will improve this yeah, but if injuries occur during the season, that's what they are left with.

If there would have been anyone available, ETH would have been gone already too.

Look-Up!

Hard to believe that was a Utd Liverpool "derby" yesterday. Very low intensity fare, you could hear a pin drop in the crowd.
Liverpool played ok if a little profligate. Would have been interesting to see how they'd have reacted if Utd had actually nicked a goal and the crowd had woken up. But overall very very disappointing for the neutral.

Year 3 for project Ten Hag and team in transition still springs to mind. Maybe time to wake up and smell the coffee.

Don't think there is any naivety within the new structure of the club. I would imagine ETH knows that he has certain milestones to hit, he has been given his players in the signings so it is now down to him to deliver.

Notice that they didn't go buying players at 29/30, even is ETH goes at some point the next guy in has a younger squad to work with.

Poor result to the big rivals but hopefully the new signings will bed in and get a fit left back and see how things go then.

New signings might bed in. They have some young players coming up through the ranks too so not hopeless and on paper a very talented squad, but still some problematic stars on their books that contribute little. It's going to be a difficult environment to thrive in especially with the extra BS that comes with a clubs like Utd.
Will take something special for Utd to get back to where they want to be, a player or core of players that lift all around them or a manager that inspires all to something greater than the sum of their parts. Who these people are is not very obvious ATM. ETH comes across as a decent guy, very well organised and conscientious. But inspirational? I think it will be the next man if it is to happen.

Surely McTominay should have been kept. Offers more than Casemiro as he can actually run. And probably on much less wages. (Not that McT is much good) but it's not like United are blessed with loads of midfielders.

This is the PSR legacy. Pure profit off academy players is more beneficial.

Always thought McTominay was scapegoated a bit by United fans myself. He's no Roy Keane but he's decent.

Casemiro is the Scott McTominay of Roy Keane's
