Cathal Donaghy outstanding again, think he would be a serious asset in one of the wing half forward spots for Tyrone where we are lacking a bit of physicality.

Hopefully Cathal can be talked around to giving the county another go, remains a standout midfield player. Play him wing forward and stick with him through the league.

I can't understand how Dungannon have went so far backwards so quick. Over the last 5 years they have been easily the third best team in Tyrone behind Errigal and Trillick and ahead of the chasing pack. Even after losing to Trillick last year in a brilliant game, you would say them and Loughmacrory were probably sitting third and fourth. Hard to see how a team with quality players like Paul Donaghy, two Jones, two McKearneys, Barkers, Matthew & James Quinn, Leo Hughes, Paddy Quinn, Paudie McNulty etc can fall so far so quick. Naomh Eoghan in Intermediate are an example of what can be achieved when you get everyone super fit and organised and Dungannon are probably an example of the opposite and what can happen when everything isn't right in the camp.
Dungannon have no earn being around the bottom of the league flirting with Relegation. Hopefully we see a resurgence in them next year, because they are a top team and they are always great to watch.

You're a year out on that Benny, the corresponding Ranafast final for this years MacRory group was between Omagh and Abbey CBS who have both been drawn in Group C.   

Omagh CBS have won every year at this age group - beating Dungannon in the Dalton & Cor Na Nog finals and beating Abbey CBS in the Oisin McGrath and Rannafast Finals. So that would be your top 3 teams. Maghera would be strong at Year 13, so probably be competitive enough this year as well.

Dunno what the problem is down there. Underage teams the envy of most of the county, never look a threat for the main prize. Have made a few semi finals but never looked a real contender since that 2009 final, a long time ago now

Ardboe have brought through some excellent players over the last number of years - Conor Devlin, Shea O'Hare, Jamie Concannon, Cormac Devlin, Conan Devlin, Darragh Devlin, Davin McKeown etc but they are very very similar players who all would ideally want to play wing back or wing forward. They haven't brought through inside forwards or midfielders and these are the positions that have let them down a lot of over the last 15 years. Even their more established players Michael ONeill DD Mulgrew and Shea McGuigan were also wing backs wing forwards who have been converted into midfielders and inside forwards. Until they bring through players of that profile the reality is Ardboe will continue to struggle.

Really? I would say from watching the championship games the standard of Division 3 is overall very poor.

take Fintona out of it and it's the weakest Junior in a long time.

Would expect Clogher or Kildress to bounce back up immediately next year.
Kildress will look back last night on the 1-01 that came back off the post before half time and rock responding by going five up. That was probably the losing of the game at that stage.

funny game last night..at one stage looked like kileeshil were in cruise control in the 1st half, should've been further ahead by HT..paid the price as DL dominated the 2nd half...

Was a real game of two halves, such a cliché I know haha. Was evident Derrylaughan not at full strength with the likes of Owen Cush and the Clan na Gael coach missing. Dark horses and ones to watch.

IFC is wide open this year so Derrylaughan could possibly win it but then what? They were the whipping boys in Division 1 last year and that wouldn't change if they went up via the championship. With 12 points in Division 2 this year in reality they are closer to Division 3. They'd be better off staying in Division 2 for a while and try to be more competitive there.

The bad injury to Carney was a major contributing factor. The only game they had Kennedy and Carney they beat Killyclogher.

Gerard probably lined up for the U20s when Paul Devlin steps down. An O'Neill Cup with Carmen in the meantime while he waits for that job.

Don't know if I see Devlin stepping down anytime soon - alot of security within that u20s role which he seems to have made a name for his own - if he was to leave would only be for the senior job I'd say, and I think MOR is truly building something there. Fair play to Donnelly all the same could push on at senior club football now

U20 position is vacant currently. Donnelly is the obvious choice to come in there if Devlin doesn't seek renomination.

Beyond the silverware, Gerard has played an important role in the development of a generation of young Tyrone footballers, helping prepare players to progress through the county pathway while representing their clubs and communities with distinction on the national stage.

His six years in charge have been marked by tremendous commitment, leadership and consistency, and we are extremely grateful for the time and energy he has given to Tyrone football.

We thank Gerard, his management teams and backroom personnel for an outstanding contribution over the past six years and wish him every success in the future.

The obvious solution in my opinion would be to bring back 1A 1B 2A 2B and have two going up and down betweeen each. Home and away fixture against each team.
Eg. Winner of 2A and Intermediate Champ Winner are promoted. Bottom of 2A are relegated and joined by loser of a play off between teams that finished 6th and 7th. Top in 2B and winner of play off between 2nd and 3rd promoted.
This only equates to 14 league games and 1 extra play off round for a few teams.
Allows the county board to play 7 starred games and they can bring in the staggered point system they wanted to bring in this year as every team will be worth the same points.
Allows the league to start in April if they wish - May is fine in my opinion.
It Structures the league better as there does seem to be clear bottom half and top half teams in Senior and Intermdiate.
