Lavey got relegated to Division 2 by Screen in a play off they did not play intermediate championship.
Playing a year of intermediate championship may help a young team develop but only if you win the thing and get back to senior.

I thought it was decent entertainment as a fight. Most professional boxing I have seen is awful. Commentators should have shut up occasionally and the continued hype is getting embarrassing. Still a bit of happiness in the world is hardly a bad thing.

It is Ciaran Hendry. Lavey got turned over at the very end of the first half resulting in a two pointer. Coach mouthed off to linesman giving away a tap over free and the chance to press the Newbridge kick out immediately after the goal. They played the first half as if the 2 pointer didn't exist both in closing down Newbridge and in taking shots. Second half better but errors on the line cost them. Throwing a minor in at half time 5 days after a final and presumably some celebrations wasn't a great idea. Bringing on E Magill and F Bradley to add a bit of strength did seem to turn things, perhaps they should have been the ht changes.
Newbridge very direct shooting wayward at the start but once they got it together they looked very good. 2nd half, especially last 20, they played a lot like Lavey in the first with aimless possession, at which point they looked nothing special. Deserved winners but a couple of minutes more and I think they would have lost it.

If Lavey won people would not be surprised but Newbridge are favourites.
P Power have them pretty clear at 4/7 Lavey 6/4. Newbridge keep finding a way to win these matches so you would have lost a lot more than you would have won betting against them the last two years.
Magherafelt are 1/18 to win against Steelstown wouldn't have thought it was that much of a certainty.

Sleacht Néill are the only one I would say is a banker you could make an argument on the rest.
Faughanvale, Swatragh and Banagher not good enough based on their 1st round result.
Lavey not tested by F'Vale and might find it hard to step up intensity sufficiently in the 10 day turnaround.
Steelstown had a great start last year then fell away, don't think they can sustain the scooring against a top team.
Bellaghy I just don't trust to put two performances together.
3 into the relegation play offs my guess is Faughanvale to go down. Winning this game might be their best chance to stay up.

A 4 point goal to increase the incentive to get the ball inside to the full forward line. Remove the hand passed point to discourage getting the ball inside to the ff line.
Abandon all attempts to bring back the long kick and high fielding everyone was told they wanted when last the rules where changed by allowing the short kickout. Hope refs can count players behind them, handpasses, spot if someone is in or out of an arc, if a pass has traveled from the 45 to the 13, been caught cleanly, if a mark or solo and go is impeded all whilst deciding what is or is not a legitimate tackle.

That won't change until the board and Desmond go. Unfortunately the fans have been sucked in and bought season tickets and merch etc. but the board have them now where they want them. Not for the first time, they are hooked. So unless the fans, go all in and boycott fully, there will be no change.

There has to be someone who would want to buy and invest in the club for any change to happen. A boycott wouldn't drum up interest, I think we are stuck with the current ownership for the forseeable future.

As far as I remember I chose Dungiven as they seemed more consistent in the league.  But plenty could change come championship.

I wouldn't change manager now at least the current staff know the players and know the set up in Scotland. You would hope the club would work in the background to ID the next management team and plan with them for next season.
If you look at the managers appointed by Scottish teams the pool available doesnt seem to be that big. Most clubs seem to appoint someone up and coming which leaves you in danger of picking a Delia or a Nancy.

The Europa League is the level Celtic are and they may even struggle in it. But that was still horrendous. McCowan and Ralston do not have the quality on the ball, and the midfield has little positional discipline, physicality and can't tackle. Engels whilst a good player was the same, Baur looks decent but again he is hardly the biggest.
Stop buying tricky wingers and playmakers, get some steel into the side. Tierney and Johston are not imposing full backs which makes the need for a few big men in midfield even more important. It is why Scales always looks good in a Celtic jersey as he is one of the few who puts himself about.
It is a pity for MON unless they turn it around in the Europa this game will be an oversized part of his legacy.
