The Desmond led board have done a fantastic job of lowering expectations. Couple of good signings to replace guys who left two years ago. At least four more required and the guys they brought in have at best 2 weeks and at worst 1 week to get bedded in for a Champions League qualifier. Absolute clown show. Dundee Utd hit the woodwork 4 times yesterday also.

2 players signed and the league starts on Monday. Engels and Johnston likely to leave in this window. The two forwards signed look the part but it's still not enough. Two injuries away from Doohan and Montgomery starting. It's disgraceful but Desmond will be delighted with the result at Tannadice tonight and sadly so will most of the support.

Somewhere along the line you need to speculate to accumulate, thats if you have any aspirations of winning a game in the CL knockouts, if you don't aspire to that then you'd behave exactly as they are, their total lack of ambition was plain for all to see ahead of the Bayern game 18 months ago, there's nothing interesting really happening, a very boring enterprise at the minute

Yes and no.

I completely agree the ambition is domestic dominance and Europe is nice and funded accordingly.

But pumping money the club doesn't have into chasing Europe isn't wise either.

Needs to be something in the middle.

reality is the club have money but would rather pay corporation tax on profits, £33.6million in 10 years ( £11.5m last year in 2025)
70million in the bank
the stadium is decrepid
team is awful
and fans at at the end of their tether and all the communication a fan gets is crap about new kit etc

My point is spending huge money chasing Europe is mental talk.

Nobody is asking to spend massive money chasing Europe. A respectable effort every season would be acceptable. With group stages in all competitions there is plenty of scope. Celtic could be a Scottish equivalent of Sporting CP if someone at the top had a modicum of ambition. Unfortunately, the Desmond family have no such ambition for Celtic. It's a shame and a disgrace.

13 days until the league starts. One new signing and two of the best players likely gone before the first game. It can only be sabotage by Desmond. I just can't understand why? None of it makes sense.

It's beyond belief at this stage.  As much as I admire Martin O'Neill, he's always been a Desmond man.  Nothing changes until Desmond goes.  The only time Celtic had a competent CEO, he was gassed after a few months for not following orders.  It's infuriating and there is absolutely no need for it.

Bannside, I think you are sadly mistaken about the manager having a wish list and getting boxes ticked.  They won't even pull the trigger on Saracchi for just over a million quid.  In 2026.  Seriously.

They've only had 6 months to sort a new manager and the Chief Executive is currently on holiday so make of that what you will.

The fact that the only two candidates are Keane and O'Neill says a lot.  It is difficult enough to attract talented managers (or players) to Scotland without introducing the clown show that is Celtic FC governed totally by the majority shareholder.  You can replace the Board members with whoever you like, until Desmond is gone nothing changes.

Soul destroying and they didn't deserve Martin O'Neill rescuing the season just gone. 

There isn't going to be any change in the way the club operates while Desmond is around.

I reckon it's Martin O'Neill's job if he wants it.  The Board won't have done anything while waiting for his answer.  Just like they have done nothing to speak out against all the nonsense spouted by Hearts, Tony Bloom and the media this week.  They left it to O'Neill who once again rose to the occasion with zero support from them.

Cup final tomorrow, surely a stress free, easy win is on the cards.....................
