What's the legal procedure  for keeping cattle?

I'm assuming I just can't  buy a  cow or twenty from a farmer and stick them in  a field?

I'm assuming there's paperwork to fill out  before that happens?

Yes, you need a herd number from DAERA and herdbook to record tags / TB status/ movements / births/ deaths.

Its very good both to hear the account from vets and underlines the dysfunction inherent in "our democracy".

This oufit landed with snipers to shoot the cattle, that was there intention from day 1. If u think its hard to round up cattle, how do you think they got to markets.Vet doing a risk assessment? Vets know animal health better than farmers and all are experienced handling cattle in this neck of the woods.

Often farmers will avoid going to the vet out of tightness and cost themselves money in the process.

Another lovely aspect is many farms have poor setups, not even basic crushes available so vets have to take unnecessary risks around the animal.

10% of farmers have vet debt over a year old, around half take 90 days to clear a bill.

The useless cretin should have been given 3 weeks to live, maybe then hed have bucked up and got rid of the cattle.
