Not saying the harps won't make a breakthrough but in the late 80s early 90s the harps had outstanding underage teams won minor and u21 final at there easy most of them played in senior finals 97/98 then fell away. Just because you win underage is no guaranteed lads will make it at senior.

I agree, no guarantees they will but some posters reaction to the suggestion that they will is a bit much. Expectation is bound to come with the success

Ballacolla are the benchmark in Laois and you have to hand it to them but not sure about them being a serious outfit. How would they mix it in other counties?

I agree with Willie in that the Laois CB are a shambles but his reasoning was pointed towards unfair treatment of R Phelan and that he shouldn't have been sent off because Harps lads were sledging. It was an odd point of attack but fair play to them, they used it as fuel and it helped them over the line.

Abbeyleix vs Harps and Ballinakill vs B/K probably the only ones up for debate.

Ballacolla with a highly regarded Tipp coach added to the coaching ticket in recent weeks will be a big plus.

Kildare have obviously got improved structures in place providing the foundation for their rise but they have also had what looks to be brilliant management teams in place over their senior hurlers the last few years.
