Quote from: Antrim on October 08, 2026, 04:13:14 PMThey Portglenone boys are too busy talking to the Belfast referees in their heads.

In fairness their minors have some smashing players.

An entertaining game as much for the manner of Rossa's comeback.

good to see ref blowing the messy pulling and dragging that are designed to stop teams playing football. He did that early and a game broke out rather than have 2 teams sniping at each other for 60 mins.

Didnt think Brigids had that in them cleaned Dunloy out at midfield, locked down Dunloy key men and moved the ball well. dealing with what was in front of them with no drama. Probably need to update their scoring rate for the final though.

Dunloy looked heavy legged throughout the second half and I don't think they won one break ball at midfield.

The big switch since Weds in language by a lot of elected officials to the phrase of "goading and provoking" smells a lot like getting excuses in early for any trouble and borders on being up their with "what did she expect me to do disrespecting me like that"

They are of course correct that the law has ruled in favour of a March however it was also previously lawful to beat the shit out of kids in school, to discriminate on sex, religion and race grounds, to drink drive, the list goes on.

What's right and what's lawful can be a very different thing.

Brigids Dunloy has been a tight match the last two years with little between them, could go either way.

Brigids will need to let the handbrake off and Dunloy will need to cause chaos for both to hit their stride. Should be a good game with both teams needing to have a fast pace to play well.  Could honestly go either way.

Cargin should be comfortable, in Rossa's locker is to bring hurling physicality to level the game a bit but Cargins forwards are a cut above Portglenones and they'll also manage the game a lot better should Rossa get a bit of a run.

Luck as ever on injuries, discipline and players doing mad stuff will play its part.

Hopefully two good games.

Quote from: Dougal Maguire on September 27, 2026, 09:25:23 AMIt seems to be that it's been driven by the DUP as a means to win back some of the support it lost as a result of the Donaldson case

Yup, 100%

make no mistake though it suits both big parties to have the upcoming election on a culture war basis and distract from having achieved nothing - both being squeezed by a re-energised middle.

A bit like lads looking a free ticket to a  match there'll be 100 stewards with the parade.

The mid 90's between Drumcree, Lee Clegg, Omagh and every other atrocity you could mention felt like a time we were tipping back to the 70's.

Why anyone would want to reopen this is beyond me, it will be open season on other areas where either community has had to make accommodations they don't like.

In never ceases to amaze me that those who proclaim their Christianity the loudest are those who live their life in tan unChristian manner.

Incidentally, the church service at Drumcree is normally at 10 am so not sure how this a walk back from that at 8am.

Quote from: Spike on September 23, 2026, 10:32:15 AMExactly this.  They have changed both league playoffs and championship draws MIDSEASON before.  No reason why they cant change this during the break.  If they don't it is because they want to avoid the aggro of the relegated clubs who want someone to blame other than themselves

Who is they?

Pop at ref's all day but the standard of football was crap for what is the top 8 teams in the county.

Cargin turned in a half decent performance with one or two players making the entrance fee worthwhile.

Outside of that it was dross.

Complaints would be better directed in-house to club coaches as to what they are teaching players over 20 years.

Incidentally if a referee reports excessive abuse at a match both clubs should forfeit home advantage for next number of scheduled games, mistakes are made but the abuse has to stop and manners need applied. Paying a couple of quid at the gate gives no licence to act the maggot.

Is it the most open championship in years or simply one where teams can't string more than 2 performances together?

Cargin have shown this championship if teams leave the door half ajar they'll barge through it and take advantage, tonight the same.

Creggan was neat and tidy in the league and that was enough for that.

Quote from: NAG1 on September 14, 2026, 09:12:19 AMNot much to pick between Dunloy and Cushendall yesterday, probably little bit of shadow boxing knowing they will likely meet again down the line.

Interesting to see the reaction to Saturday's antics in LG this week. Would like to think there would be quick response, but knowing Antrim  ::)

Belfast Live reporting Antrim are awaiting the referee report which seems a bit mad Ted.

Crazy Train — Ozzy Osbourne

Throw a sombrero on the train and it would be Chris de Burgh.
