Ah here down with the local garden guy today sourcing trees and to get him to plant them so I have to look at the f**k*rs as little as possible, no doubt we will be in for round 2 with some problem with the trees

Technically they own their half, albeit we tried to be nice and not leave the front half done.

Kids live about quarter of a mile up the road and the bus driver and his bosses have no issue at all with calling to our house to get the kids, only two horrible people have an issue with it.

Regards the dog as much as he abused me the dog has not been out past 10pm since, however any disruption from it now on I will take issue. I do not want to have a bad relationship with my neighbours, I was brought up to be nice to people and not go looking for trouble.

Quote from: RedHand88 on October 02, 2026, 12:17:36 PMWho owns the bit of road?
Get your MLA involved, Declan Kearney? Get as many as you can actually.
Are the children registered to your house or your sons? Problem is if it's your sons that's where they should technically be lifted and the driver may have only been doing it from your house as a favour.

Start recording the dog. Get a ring camera.
You have my full sympathy.

Edit how far away does your son live? There is something the education authority only needing to drop children off within 1 mile of home but someone else might be able to confirm

Just wanted to throw this out there to make myself feel better insofar as we are not the only ones with horrible neighbours.

We live out in the country with a neighbour beside us with a shared road spay. Recently our son started dropping his kids to us as he is back in an office and a school education authority bus picks the kids aged 9 & 7 from the road spay. Yesterday my son got a call from the bus driver to say he can no longer pick the kids up as the neighbours have complained about the bus pulling onto the spay which they fear will damage the tarmac, tarmac we paid for and did not ask them for a contribution as you know what it was an extra few hundred quid to do their part also. The bus driver said as he cannot use the spay he feels it is unsafe and now the kids can't get the bus.

This goes back in my opinion to the fact during that during the summer we were routinely being woken up after midnight by his dog being let out to pee and no one supervising said dog. I approached him (in a civil manner) the next day and asked was their anything he could do to control the dog at that time of night, he reacted by accusing me of threatening him (I did not) and then by abusing me calling me a t*at etc.

I really cannot understand the mentality of some people and I honestly do not want to get into a tit for tat with them, however, I really cannot stand the sight of them now.

Anyone else with joyous neighbours?

Yeah same circs here with the wife she also has a highly pressurised job

In work, not really, I am the lead man in my field in the company and a lot of people look to me for answers and bring me their problems, to some extent I am the sounding board and fixer, not someone who brings a problem elsewhere. I am sure I will be able to shake it, just I have never had a feeling like it linger for so long. Onwards and upwards

Quote from: Would ye whist on September 23, 2026, 02:54:17 PMNot sure what is up, however, finding things really bloody tough right now, have a mood I cannot lift at all. I have spoken to the wife about it but have played it down to her as she will only worry. I am not a man for opening up at all and I am used being the wise one (steady) and the strong one for the wife and children. Main breadwinner and work is so much pressure right now, hopefully I shake it soon and hoping even typing it on here will help.
You're not alone in that regard. I just tell the wife things are grand regardless of how my day goes, as she has plenty on her plate too. Don't know your work circumstances but dont let it pile up to a point where it becomes a burden that's hard to shift. Anyone in work you can talk to to shift a few things around?

You will go to many of club game throughout Ireland before you see a better captain's performance than James Lav on Friday night, yes his goal was a screamer but that was just the icing on the cake. His constant hard tackling, winning dirty ball, distribution and overall driving the team forward at every opportunity, a joy to watch

Quote from: JimStynes on September 21, 2026, 12:01:20 PMI think this is the worst standard of championship I have seen in Antrim for as long as I can remember. A decent run and bit of momentum by any of the top 4/5 clubs would get you close to the final in Antrim these days. Very little quality on any team that I have seen so far.

We made a complete balls of the LD game. Cruising with 10mins left and somehow get beat. Adam getting injured right before the PG1 game was a disaster too. But we are still a good bit behind the level we were at a few years ago. Hopefully another winter will help a few of the young lads and we have a decent age profile.

With Aghagallon having met Sarsfields, Lamh Dhearg and Portglenone it isnt hard to see how you came to this conclusion. You havent met either of the two clear favourites Dunloy or Cargin or even St Brigids. Il agree to a certain extent that the championship is a worse standard but letting 16 teams enter it when 8 max are worthy of a place is the main issue but that's been covered on here numerous times.
Joe Cassidy loved that PG1 result yesterday, its taken the heat completely off what he has done at Creggan and that is stick them firmly in reverse gear!

Take the teams you mentioned. Dunloy, Cargin and St. Brigids. In my opinion they wouldn't get near the Cargin teams from the recent past and obviously no where near the St. Galls teams. They're the best of a bad bunch. Hardly a player in Division 1 that you could get excited about. And yes, 16 teams is stupid. That's an easy fix.

Seann Elliot, Conhuir Johnston?

While we all ignore it and fail to call it out refereeing in Antrim is now in the hands of a small concentrate of SA referees who are more interested in keeping the games to themselves and secondly how much mileage they can screw out of it.

BS, take a day and log off, while you may feel you have a point you are not making it in the best way and making yourself look awful into the bargain

Quote from: Hectic on September 21, 2026, 10:11:45 AM
Quote from: NorthAntrimSaff on September 21, 2026, 09:32:42 AMAlso worth noting there are no top level SW antrim referees any more?

There are very few in the whole of the county.  I would struggle to name you two or three and I attend a lot of football.

While BS and Portglenone might be sore and posting in full pain we can't brush aside the fact that the standard of Gaelic football refereeing in Antrim is abysmal.

Only for a very dodgy penalty call Ballymena would have been playing Cargin

Quote from: Sportacus on September 06, 2026, 09:08:43 PMWatched that Cross game today on tv.  Our championship is played at such a slow pace compared to that, it was like a different sport.

Big difference between knockout football and group round robin dross

Anyway, when do ballymena play Cargin?

Seems the people in authority, McCague thinks different as the ref is doing the big game this weekend Ports v Aghagallon

Quote from: Dunsilly King on September 02, 2026, 02:05:25 PMI was at the game, saw the videos etc, the ref and his officials were a disgrace, and thats me as a Creggan supporter. That ref needs to hunted from a serious game of football. Just unacceptable. Moneyglass lost a lot of local respect with their behaviour.  Men have to go to work the next  day, thats the bottom line. Disgusting stuff from Moneyglass. If it was one off accident, no problem, it happens, what unfloded was deliberate.
